Coffee was first brewed in what is now Tampa, Florida in the early 1800s. The coffee beans were brought over by Spanish settlers and roasted on their plantations. In 1906, a group of businessmen from St Petersburg bought a tract of land near the present day intersection of US-1 and US-Highway 61. They began to grow coffee trees and roast their own beans. This started the current Starbucks chain in Seattle, Washington. In 1967, two brothers from Clearwater founded the first Dunkin' Donuts franchise in Tampa. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Corporation was established in 1971 as an entity to purchase different grocery stores across Florida with plans to open up more Dunkin' Donuts franchises statewide. The company became known for its signature donut - a smalldonut with frosting that is made with Interceptor Coffee grounds (a blend of dark Turkish and Guatemalan coffees). The Tampa Bay Buccaneers football team played their first game at Hillsborough Stadium on November 8, 1972 against the Miami Dolphins under head coach Steve Spurrier. At that time, Hillside Coffees served as both concessionaires for the game and local broadcaster WTVT provided live coverage of the event from their studios on Hillsborough Boulevard across from Hillsborough Stadium. On December 5th, 1978, Bucs owner Tom Benson purchased naming rights to Hillsborough Stadium which allowed him to rename it "Benson Stadium" after his ownership stake increased by $75 million (the largest donation ever given to a school or sporting event). At this time also Tiger Woods won his third major championship at Pinehurst Resort & Spa - driving around campus in a black Cadillac driven by then-head sportswriter Joe Posillini who drove along University Boulevard outside stadium). As part of Benson's agreement with Hillsborough County government,[1] all county roads leading into/out of stadium were renamed "Benson Boulevard". There are still some streets within stadium boundaries that have been changed back since then: Vaughn Road become home plate drive for new Rays ballpark; Museum Drive becomes Bank Street between Raymond James Field and Veterans Affairs Hospital; University Boulevard becomes First Avenue between Timmons Ave./Mallory Ave./Stuart Dr./Navarro Rd./Walt Disney World Blvd.; Gulfstream Park Drive turns into Hwy 401 just north of I-275 exit; McCoy Rd./Hillsborough Blvd.–which once connected downtown Tampa with Russianna through pipeline–becomes Government Road east of I-275 exit off Loopstrave[2]. The Bucs played their final game at Benson Stadium on November 15th 1990 against the New York Jets under head coach Towery Crennel. At that time Hillside Coffees ceased serving concessionaires during games but continued providing live coverage from WTVT's studios on Hillsborough Boulevard across from Hillsborough Stadium until sold to Comcast SportsNet West three years later which converted it into an arts center using much older facilities there including an old roller skating rink which was used as practice ice for NHL players before being torn down in 2006.[3] In 2013 Camden Yards opened adjacent to Philips Arena ground zero displacing Benson Stadium as home field advantage went back to Bucs fans when they moved out of Raymond James Field following Nimitz Professional Development Center construction nearby
