The first coffee plantation in Tarpon Springs was founded in 1868 by J.C. Cooke and A.F. Griggs. The company grew rapidly and by 1892, had purchased three plantations totaling 153 acres. By 1912, the company had become the Fidelity Coffee Company and continued to grow until it merged with Jardine & Co.'s Florida Coffee Corporation in 1929 to form United States Coffee Corporation. Tarpon Springs became a center of coffee production after World War II when soldiers returning from service brought their beans back with them and began to cultivate coffee trees on the existing plantations. In 1956, United States Coffee corporation merged with Chasen's Steakhouse Incorporated to create Starbuck's Coffee Corporation which continues to produce quality coffee today under the name Starbucks Corporation.
Tarpon Springs, Florida is a city in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. The population was 912 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami–Ft. Lauderdale Metropolitan Statistical Area. Tarpon Springs first came into being in 1884 as a result of the annexation of Lantana by Palm Beach County. In 1936, Tarpon Springs became an unincorporated community after it was merged with several other small communities in Palm Beach County to form Dunmore Park. In 1957, Dunmore Park was renamed for Admiral David Dunmore and incorporated as a city on its own separate ballot issue by voters who desired to distance themselves from their rural roots while still maintaining close ties to their larger neighbor Pinellas County. Tarpon Springs experienced significant growth during World War II due to the area's position as an important naval air station and its status as a major manufacturing center for military hardware such as aircraft engines and tanks. Today, Tarpon Springs remains one of South Florida's most vibrant communities with an active nightlife scene and high-quality medical care options thanks to its location within walking distance of several hospitals and clinics including Memorial Hermann Hospital Medical Center and Broward Regional Health System.

The first coffee was grown in the Andes by a man named Pascual de la Vega. He found a small field of coffee beans and started to roast them. This became the beginnings of coffee culture in what is now Peru. In 1795, Colombian farmers began to grow coffee for export. They set about refining the beans and planting new plantations in order to produce more quality coffee. The following year, they exported 5,000 sacks of their finest coffees to Spain. Spanish traders began trading with Peru in the 16th century and soon discovered that the country had a rich variety of crops, including coffee. They also saw potential in its natural resources, which included oil and coal deposits. As trade intensified, Spanish colonists came into contact with Indian tribes who were already growing Coffee trees. These Indians learned how to cultivate this crop and Export it back home to Spain as well as other parts of Europe
Tarpon Springs, Florida is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,724 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tampa-St Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. Tarpon Springs was founded in 1892 by J.P. Richardson as a station on the St. Petersburg and Clearwater Railroad. The post office opened in 1893 and changed its name to Tarpon Springs in 1912 after then-Mayor John P. Ryan's home village of Shandon on the Atchafalaya River. Ryan also donated land for the town's first college which opened in 1915 as Florida A&M University (now USF). In 1926, Hurricane Floyd destroyed much of downtown Tarpon Springs and most of the homes within 2 miles (3 km). However, many businesses and residences have been rebuilt since then including some that are still standing today such as John Cavanaugh's grocery store which reopened after being closed for over 20 years due to damage from Hurricane Andrew in 1992 The growth of nearby Tampa has led to an increase in development around Tarpon Springs with several high-end subdivisions being built near Lake Okeechobee and Interstate 75/Upper Little Cuba Boulevard making it easy for people living there to commute into larger metropolitan areas such as Tampa or St Petersburg. There are also a number of smaller businesses located throughout town that continue to serve residents despite occasional closures or relocations due to physical or environmental challenges such as water shortages or graffiti problems
