It was then that we became one of the first dealers in Florida to sell handguns (specifically revolvers). Over the years, we have purchased and sold many firearms including guns from both Confederate Veterans and American soldiers during World War II. Tavares is a small town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 7,821 at the 2010 census. Tavares is located on the east coast of Biscayne Bay and is bordered by Everglades National Park to the north and west, Pompano Beach to the east and south, and Cutler Bay to the southeast. Major highways that intersect in Tavares are US 1 (the Keys), US 27 (Pompano Beach Boulevard), US 441 (Everglades Parkway), and SR 26 (Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood Freeway). The area that now makes up Tavares was Once inhabited by Calusa Indians who hunted deer, rabbits, pigs, turtles and other animals on an annual basis. The first European settlers arrived in what is now Tavares in 1836 when Captain George Smith of HMS "Orpheus" landed with his regiment of British Marines on Biscayne Bay. He named what is now Tavares after his ship's master Bartholomew "Tavaret" Fenton who had accompanied him while he explored the bay. In 1854 the Townsite Act was passed by Congress which granted township status to all unincorporated areas within Miami-Dade County. On December 3rd 1880 Mayor James Haggerty dedicated a parkland parcel adjacent to present day Main Street for public use as part of its growth as a community during Reconstruction era America following the American Civil War. In 1886 Jethro Gibbs donated land comprising present day Cutler Bayou along with parcels bordering it for use as open space for public recreation including baseball diamonds; today these acres make up much of downtown Tavares with some remaining undeveloped until recently due to its strategic location between Interstate 95/SR 26/US 1/the keys & Pompano Beach Blvd

For example, Winchester has partnered with numerous organizations including The International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) to create international competitions allocating unique prizes to shooters from around the globe.

Tavares is a small town in Pinellas County, Florida, with a population of about 1,500. The Tavares post office was established in 1907, and the first store opened in 1909. It is currently located on US-1 near its intersection with SR-4. The town's namesake, John Tavares, was a captain in the United States Navy who served during World War I and II. He also helped develop St Petersburg Beach. In 1928, Tavares became the home of the first Junior High School in South Florida. In 1988 it merged with neighboring Clearwater to form Clearwater Union High School District #2. In recent years Tavares has become known for its annual FSU Seminoles football game against Daytona State University which takes place at Raymond James Stadium on Saturday mornings preceding National Football League (NFL) games played at nearby Tampa Bay Buccaneers stadium that seats over 53,000 people. The town also annually hosts the Make A Wish Foundation party for kids living with cancer or other illnesses at Harbourside Park followed by picnics and carnival rides for children before an ice cream social afterwards.
Tavares was founded in 1794 by the Tavares family. The town was originally called Fort Mose and was established on an island near what is now Jacksonville, Florida. At its peak, Tavares had a population of over 1,000 people. The town became a center for sugar cane production and development around the turn of the century. In 1898, Tavares was annexed to Jacksonville and renamed after General James Wainwright.
