This marked the beginning of what would eventually become known as “Chandler’s ERA” within not only Temple Terrace but throughout Southwest Florida!]Starting out small with just six rifles and shotguns available for purchase [], Chatham Hardware quickly became wellknown for its quality firearms products and customer service! Over time theyve expanded their inventory cavernousy including over 450 handguns/ammunition items along with over 100 rifles!]By 1941 elections had passed and George Wallace took office as Governor of Florida [], making it illegal to possess any typeof firearm within state borders!. Sherman's visit to the area two years earlier and his victory over Johnston at Second Seminole War battle of Blackwater River. After Sherman's death in 1887, his widow Georgia died without an heir so her estate passed to her son Samuel Biddle Sherman III who gave the community its name and laid out its streets according to Masonic principles while also providing for religious services and social events on behalf of his father-in-law's Masonic Lodge No. 6 on Apollo Drive near Northwest Indian School Road. In 1915, Temple Terrace became one of twenty townships purchased from county commissioners by Governor Lawton Chiles for use as a new county seat after being moved from West Mims due to lack of voters living therein and concerns about landowning interests in nearby Daytona Beach In 1925, it became one of three southernmost townships (along with Stonington and Indian Rocks) added to Lee County when it was created from parts of Marion and Monroe counties . In 1960, all but 1/3 of Temple Terrace residents chose not to become citizens of Lee County because they felt their township should remain within Marion County while other portions were annexed into neighboring counties . On November 5th 1969, law enforcement officers responded to reports that shots had been fired outside party headquarters just before 11 PM local time after an alleged fight inside which no arrests were made that night or any subsequent night ; however , there was no evidence found that anyone had been killed or injured

The population density was 711/km² (2,439/mi²). There were 636 housing units at an average density of 283/km² (693/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 98% White (95% European American), 0% African American, 0% Native American, 2% Asian Pacific Islander, and 2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3% of the population
The first Europeans to visit the area were the Spanish in 1565. The area around Temple Terrace was originally known as "Tampa Bay." Tampa Bay was named after St. James, who founded the city of Tampa on this site in 1796. The name changed when a man by the name of Temple purchased land near what is now downtown Tampa and built a chapel there. In 1819, he donated the present-day temple to Christianity.
