Temple Terrace is a small town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 10,005 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. The first coffee shop in Temple Terrace opened in 1961 and was run by Leon Waddell and his wife Peggy. In 1984, Jackie Robinson bought the business from Waddell and changed its name to Jackie Robinson's Coffee Company. The shop continued to be owned by Robinson until he died in 1992. After his death, the business passed through several ownership changes before it was purchased by Blake Morris in 2009. The current owners are Aaron Sowell and Trebor Scott. In 1964, entrepreneur Don Freeman set up a small grocery store next to the old Jackie Robinson's Coffee Company on Northwest First Street named Donelson's Grocery & Café which served coffee until 1984 when it closed due to lack of customers. In2006-2007 Howard Schultz donated $100K towards purchasing an espresso machine for Donelson's Grocery & Café which reopened as Starbucks inside the old Masonic temple on Northwest First Street across from Dunkin' Donuts (now Wendy's). This event marked Starbucks first foray into open-air retail space outside of their corporate headquarters located on Fifth Avenue between 45th and 46th Streets in Manhattan Beach, California; this location would later become their home office for over 20 years beginning with their move from New York City to downtown San Francisco in 2008 after buying Hearst Corporation’s former newspaper properties including The Examiner building across 5th Avenue from City Hall Plaza bulk warehouse complex where they had been headquartered since 1971[1]. A second location opened near Boca Raton International Airport which became known as "Starbucks at Palm Beach" and served coffee until 2001 when it closed due to low sales[2] followed by another Palm Beach location also serving coffee until 2005 when that location too closed[3]. A third Starbuckslocation opened adjacent to IHOP restaurant near Hollywood Boulevard/Upton Hills Drive starting service February 17th 2009[4]. A fourth location opening adjacent to Jamba Juice started service March 10th 2009[5]. By December 2009 all four locations had been sold or closed down due to economic conditions within Temple Terrace including one closure that occurred just two months after openingsdue solely to high water bills caused by heavy rains resulting from Hurricane Irene [6][7][8][9][10] . Only one other store remains open operating under a different name currently - Green Mountain Coffee - located off Western Ave SE corner of NW 12 Mile Rd.[11]

Temple Terrace Coffee is one of the oldest coffee shops in Florida. The shop was founded in 1917 by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bogan, who were also the first owners of the now defunct JG's Cafeteria on SW First Street in downtown Tampa. In 1925, Temple Terrace opened its doors to the public as a roastery and gift shop, which it continues to operate today. The early years of Temple Terrace Coffee were about providing quality coffee for local residents and businesses alike. Today, we continue that tradition with our beautiful cafe, showcasing a wide variety of beans from around the world. Temple Terrace is a census-designated place located in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The population was 8,871 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. The land that now makes up Temple Terrace was originally inhabited by the Timucua Nation and later became part of Ft. Lauderdale. In 1903, Miami developer James Moseley purchased 1,500 acres (500 hectares) of what is now Temple Terrace from the Timucua Nation for $2,000. Moseley gave the land to his nephew John Witherspoon mowing it down into fields which he would then sell to property developers and build subdivisions on. In 1925, Publix Supermarkets opened its first store in what is now known as Pembroke Lakeside subdivision on Northwest Third Street between Northwest First Avenue and Northwest Second Avenue in Brickell Heights neighborhood on Dadeland Boulevard near Tamiami Trail/Biscayne Boulevard. At this time, Temple Terrace consisted of only two homes and twelve small businesses composed mostly of grocery stores and restaurants along with some housing units for military personnel stationed at Fort Myers Naval Base nearby (renamed UST MacArthur Airport after General Douglas MacArthur). There were no streets or public transportation available so residents walked or took buses to all their destinations including shopping at neighboring supermarkets like Grocery Outlet Incorporated located just south of NW Third Street across from IMAX Coconut Creek Parkway where movie theaters were being built throughout South Florida during the late 1920s through early 1930s largest movie theater chain in America by total screens with over 2 million admissions per year services developed several theme parks such as Six Flags Hurricane Harbor amusement park adjacent approximately one mile northeast corner of NW Third Street between Southwest Eighth Avenue and Southwest Ninth Avenue also served by bus service operated by Catholic Charities Bus Lines providing round trip tickets within 25 miles radius Curiously enough these days there are still places remaining today called Publix Shopping Center off NW Third Street across from IMAX Coconut Creek Parkway though it has since been demolished replaced by an office building leased from Jardine &Martin who own Three Rivers Plaza which includes a high-rise tower built next to University Drive subway station light rail stop Facing Northeast Tenth Avenue southeast cornerNW Fourth Street between SW Eighth AvenueSW Ninth Avenueand SW Tenth Avenues lies Bayna Estates developments completed in 2006 consisting primarily single family dwellings nursing homes assisted living communities apartment buildings open space golf course surrounded by dense palm trees According to 2000 Census data: As reported in a 2007 article about demographics for Palm Beach County: "There's never been more than 7 percent Hispanic people living here--just under half are Cuban Americans—but there are plenty of Latinos working here too."
