The air force deployed gift history in Titusville, Florida began in the early 1940s with the establishment of the Air Force Base at Titusville. The base was home to the 1st Bombardment Wing and it was through this wing that gifts were given to local military and civil organizations. From 1942-1945, during World War II, gifts were sent to local civilian organizations such as the Boys Club of Titusville and Veterans Affairs Hospital. The air force also donated funds for war bonds and For Victory drives throughout the years. In 1995, when Air Force Base Titusville closed its doors, many of these donations still remained within the community. In honor of its past contributions to Titusville, The Air Force Foundation erected a gift history plaque in front of the old barracks on Airport Parkway. This plaque honors all of those who have entrusted their time and money into support of Air Force Base Titusville over the years.

Titusville is a city located in the U.S. state of Florida, about 25 miles south of Jacksonville on Interstate 75. The population was 12,527 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville-based metropolitan area. Titusville is surrounded by Hillsborough County to the north and east, Duval County to the west and south, and Clay County to the southwest. The first settlers in Titusville were white men who came from Carolina in search of land to settle. They arrived in 1821 and named their town after Lucius Callisteus Titus, an American Revolutionary War general who had fought for George Washington. The original villages that grew up around Titusville were called "Titusville", "New Beginnings", "Mansions" or simply "The Junction". In 1843, three brothers - James Crain, Abram Brownell and John Gadsden - founded what would become Jacksonville's first cotton gin and mills; however, it wasn't until 1851 that they began producing cloth for local merchants such as Augustus dickerson (the father of Jacksonville's first mayor) and Andrew Jackson (the president). In 1864, Titusville became known as a center for cotton production when its own steamboat factory was built by Jno. Wm.. Hargrave & Son Ltd., which manufactured ships carrying cargoes of raw cotton from New Orleans downriver to Tampa Bay before being exported across Lake Erie multiple times before ending up back in Florida at Mansfield Landing on Bulls Bayou near Fort Myers Beach because there was no way to bring it upriver! In 1886, entrepreneurs Charles Fenton Anson (1846-1924), Lewis Fenton Anson (1850-1936) and Harry Sperry bought out Jno Hargrave's share in the company; this led to their nickname – The Three Musketeers – because they controlled all aspects of business within their enterprise! Anson Boulevard still exists today as one of downtown Titusville's most defining streets due largely to this ownership group’s commitment To promoting local industry rather than concentrating power within Tallahassee or Jacksonville’s larger commercial districts."
