Titusville, Florida is a city in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 9,491 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. National Guard units have been stationed in Titusville since 1951. The first military unit to be stationed in Titusville was the 5th Infantry Regiment from Pensacola, Florida which arrived on July 1, 1951. In 1957 the 2nd Infantry Regiment arrived and was followed by the 3rd Infantry Regiment in 1960. In 1965 the 4th Infantry Regiment came to town and stayed until 1978 when they were replaced by the 8th Infantry Regiment which arrived on October 1st of that year. On November 20th of 1964 an order was received to move all active duty military personnel out of Florida and into Alabama due to Hurricane Agnes however this order never materialized as all military troops returned back to their states within days without any further action taken regarding moving them southward. On January 10th, 1976 Headquarters and Headquarters Company (Navy) moved into their present location with other activated reserve components including two battalions (the 123rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team (Airmobile)) also located here along with two companies of elementals (1st Battalion- 122nd Engineer Battalion) both originally from Fort Lauderdale Beach and had just completed their deployment to Vietnam when they moved here according to command instructions from General Michael L. Reese who served as Commander-in-Chief Atlantic Command at that time; elements of these units remained until February 15th when all units were withdrawn for home service following completion of Operation Neptune’s Spear which ended North Vietnamese resistance against South Vietnamese forces throughout Southeast Asia). This left Titusville without any active military forces apart from one battalion assigned here for training purposes only . When hostilities ceased in 1975 there remained no active hostilities taking place so on December 12th President Gerald Ford signed Executive Order 13422 making Titusville an open market center for defense production purposes with responsibility now vested within The Department of Defense under Headquarters Aviation Division since it would no longer be necessary for Army or Navy installations here as there would be no need for troop movement plans or deployments currently underway anywhere else in America due to lack of hostilities taking place anywhere else! Since then numerous businesses have opened up around this area including DoD Contracting Center(now known as US Customs & Border Protection), Strategy Group International Inc., Defence Systems Corporation etcetera; economy has boomed thanks largely to increased business activity surrounding national security related products! On July 1st 2006 after more than 50 years serving our country we retired Major General Donny Kappenberger who commanded both our Active Duty Military Units located here during that time period! He is buried near us alongside his predecessor Lieutenant Colonel Harry Daugherty who also served many years herein prior!

The Titusville National Guard has been in existence since 1917. The unit was first organized as the Florida National Guard and raised on December 12, 1917. On October 8, 1921, the Florida National Guard became an Army Reserve unit and was redesignated the Titusville Army Reserve Unit on January 1, 1922. The unit remained an Army Reserve unit until it was activated as a full-fledged military force on November 15, 1951. The army reserve unit served in interstate peacekeeping operations during the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
Titusville, Florida is a small town in the Panhandle of Florida located about 15 miles northwest of Tampa. The population was 3,412 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat for Polk County. The town was founded by John Titus in 1868 as a cotton plantation on Big Cypress Creek. Titusville became an agricultural center with land irrigated from Big Cypress Creek and other creeks. A post office was established in 1875, and a school was built in 1879. The first electric light grid went up in Titusville in 1907, and a hospital opened in 1912. By 1930, the town had become an evaporative-wastewater treatment plant port with 5 plants handling effluent from 1,500 acres (600 km2). In 1952, the Port Authority of Tampa purchased all of the assets of the old Lake Wales Water Works Company to form Publix Gulf Coast Water Company Ltd., which became Publix Parks & Recreation Corporation (Parks) Inc.. In 1994, Publix Parks merged with Sam’s Club to create Kroger Co., Inc.. In 2007, KrogerCo.,Inc.'s divestiture completed when it sold its supermarket business to JCPenney Co., Inc.. In January 2009 passionspiritualcenter announced that it would open their new building across from Walmart on I-10 West near mile marker 124 after years planning and fundraising

As the War progressed, and troops were needed in more places than just New York City, the Militia Act of 1792 created aNational Guard Bureau with responsibility for organizing, arming, and disciplining all militias within limits prescribed by Congress. On July 4th, 1898, President Grover Cleveland signed into law an act recognizing the militia as an integral part of national defense. This event marked the beginning of what is now known as "the National Guard Movement." Throughout its history, the National Guard has played an important role in our country's security. Today's National Guardsmen are dedicated to upholding our Constitution and serving their fellow citizens. They play a critical role in keeping America safe and ensuring that we can maintain our Constitutional values. The community was named for Bishop Titus of Rome (1685–1751). In 1850, the county seat was moved to Stonington because of the growth of that city and surrounding counties. In 1881, the state legislature designated an area east of US Highway 301 as the "Titusville Agricultural Reserve". This land belonged to farmers west of US Highway 301 who leased it to banks and other businesses for cattle raising and other purposes. In 1912, when US Highway 401 was built throughCollier County, parts of what are now Titusville became part of that highway's route
