The Coast Guard has been in Venice, Florida since 1915. The first coast guard station was established here in 1915 and it served as a checkpoint for fishermen. In 1953, the Coast Guard Auxiliary was formed and started providing aid to local law enforcement. In 1957, the Coast Guard Station Venice became an operational facility and began offering services to the community. In 1975, the Coast Guard Station Venice was upgraded to a full time station and began offering services to the community on a national level. In 2003, additional state of the art equipment was purchased from Germany and installed at the station. This new equipment allowed for increased service hours and better response times when needed. Since its establishment in 1915, the Coast Guard Station Venice has played an important role in keeping our community safe both domestically and internationally.
