Morgan as a citrus farming village named after his uncle James P. Morgan Sr., who had died two years earlier in an automobile accident near Key Biscayne. By 1933, when it became part of Miami-Dade County, West Palm Beach had over 115 Years of History! In 1965-1966 Floridians voted to annex Dania Beach which made West Palm Beach a separate city; however annexation did not take place because Dania Beach was still considered part ofMiami-Dade County at that time In recent years West Palm Beach has experienced many boom times due to its location on the Gulf Coast and its many tourist attractions including The beaches here are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen with crystal clear water and white sand beaches that are perfect for swimming or sunbathing anywhere you want to be! also great for windsurfing or kitesurfing if you can find a spot! All these things along with all the new condos being built make this one of my favorite places to live in South Florida!

West Palm Beach was founded on December 3, 1923 by brothers Harry and Lloyd West. The city's first block was donated to the city by developer Julius Rosenwald. The Rosenwald Blocks were a series of 22 blocks in size that became known as the "Golden Triangle". The WPA built a park in West Palm Beach in 1935, which is now known as Palm Beach National Park. In 1949, the city hired architect John Pritzker to design what is now downtown West Palm Beach. The original Pritzker designed courthouse still stands today and is used as office space.
