Fresh roasted coffee has been a part of the West Park community for as long as anyone can remember. The first time that coffee was served at the old post office in West Park was on October 15, 1916. There is evidence that coffee was served here before that date, but it is not clear when or where it began to be roasted. The first time that coffee beans were fresh roasted and stored at the old post office was in 1922. At this time, there only existed a small number of roasters in Florida andWest Park was one of their few locations. It wasn’t until 1933 that a large roaster called “Four Roses” started operations in West Park. They continued to roast coffee here until 1951 when they moved to Jacksonville, Fl. It wasn’t until about 1976that a new roaster opened up in West Park and began serving fresh roasted coffee from their own beans. This new roaster, called Green Mountain Coffee Company, became one of the most popular local businesses in WestPark and continues to serve great tasting coffees today!

The first mention of fresh roasted coffee is from Ibn Battuta, who reported on a type of bean he called "Arabica" in his Travels during the Fifteenth Century. Most likely, Arabica was a blend of two or more different types of beans that were roasted and then stored for later consumption. In 1500, Giovanni de' Medici, Duke of Florence had his own roastery and started to roast his own coffee. This began the modern era of fresh roasted coffee as we know it today. By 1600, Italian merchants were sending their fleets to Africa to purchase raw materials for their new trade ventures and they brought back coffees from that region that had been Roasted and stored in shipyards along the African coast. The first espresso machine was created by Giovanni Gobbi in 1795 which used water heated by an iron boiler connected to a pump outside to produce espresso for use in shops such as Giosuè Carducci's at Via Condotti 26 on Rome's north side where people would meet for business purposes before going into other areas around town. West Park is a town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 3,619 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami-Dade metropolitan area. West Park was established in 1888 as part of what was then Dade County. In 1912, it became a city and in 1954 it became a state park. The name "West Park" comes from the fact that most of its land had been confiscated from Native Americans by Spanish settlers who named the area "Villa Real de las Palmas". The first settler to arrive in what is now West Park was Edward Cook who came with his family in 1838. Cook constructed Fort Washington on mangrove swamps just east of present day Victory Drive and named his settlement after King George III of Great Britain. He also built Fort Lauderdale on an adjacent islands which he donated to the county for use as a military post. In 1886, following annexation by Miami-Dade County, West Park's first mayor was John Witherspoon and its first commissioner was Moses Beasley. At that time Dade County consisted of only six small towns: Biscayne Bayou (later known as Homestead Avenue), Coral Gables, Everglades National Preserve (later known as Hollywood Boulevard), Kendall Beachfront (later known as Northwest 1st Street), MidtownMiami (now DowntownMiami), and Plantation Key (later known as Northeast 2nd Street). In 1912, when Dade County absorbed Broward County into South Florida under Statehood law, West Park remained within Dade County but became an independent city governed by a mayor/council system with two senators elected at large instead of single members per township like other municipalities in South Florida at that time. On December 12th 1914 Mayor Henson proposed annexing portions of Pompano Beach due to concerns about future growth potential for both cities if they did not join together to form one consolidated municipality; this proposal passed 7–1 with Mayor Witherspoon dissenting because he felt annexation would give Pompano Beach an unfair edge over Westpark during economic times whenwestpark had more important development prospects than Pompano Beach
West Park was a small town in Union County, Florida. The community was founded by German immigrants in the early 1800s, and it continued to exist until 1920. It is now part of the city of Pensacola.
