Since 1945,ifthe USAF has deployments throughout the world including contingencies in Korea (1950-1953), Vietnam (1965-1975), Caribbean Operations (1967-1973), Desert Storm/Iraq War (1991-1998), Hurricane Katrina/ New Orleans 2005 and numerous other contingency operations worldwide. Today’s gift history can be traced back to Tinker AFB located north of Oklahoma City where personnel from four squadron Groups donated surplus aircraft parts for rebuild purposes following World War II; these groups were: 443rd Bombardment Wing Group (later 442nd Bombardment Group), 447th Bombardment Wing Group (later 448th Bombardment Wing), 457th Missile Brigade Group and 458th Missile Brigade Group.

The name of the town comes from an incident where J.P.'s brother-in-law, George Aiken, lost a horse in a race. While George was looking for the horse he found a cabin that had been abandoned and set up as a store. He called it "Weston" after his brother-in-law's farmhouse in England. In 1895 when Palm Beach County was created, Weston became part of it and remain so to this day

In 1865, Weston had a post office and two stores. The population of Weston grew to about 100 people during the early years. In 1870, a school was built and the town had its first census taken that year. By 1875, Weston had a library and two churches. The population of Weston continued to grow until it reached 250 people in 1900. In 1915, a fire destroyed most of the town and made it difficult for residents to continue living there. In 1930, when it merged with neighboring communities, Weston became part of Gainesville Township.
