Weston, Florida is a small town in Seminole County, Florida. The population was 2,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Ft. Lauderdale Metropolitan Statistical Area. Weston is located on State Road 936, about 15 miles (24 km) northeast of Orlando and 50 miles (80 km) southeast of Miami. The community was founded by John Weston in 1868 as a farming village near what is now Kissimmee. In 1905 it became an incorporated town and continued to grow until its annexation by Orlando in 1957. The growth of Weston was due in part to its location on one of the first large freshwater canals in the area - the Orange River - which made goods and services easy to access from both east and west coasts. Additionally, many new homes were built during this time due to advances in engineering such as air conditioning and irrigation systems that allowed for growing crops year-round without needing to rely on rain or snow for water storage and distribution. Today, Weston remains a vibrant community with low crime rates and excellent educational opportunities for its citizens; it has even been named "Best Place To Live" by Forbes magazine twice!

Weston, Florida is a small town located in Polk County, Florida. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando-Kissimmee-Miami metropolitan area. The town began as a stop on the Butterfield Overland Mail route in 1851. In 1893, the Weston post office was established and became an important transportation hub for citrus production in central Florida. Although growth slowed after World War II, it has resumed since the 1990s with new development and an increase in tourism. Weston's history dates back to 1851 when two brothers—Samuel Weston and Nathaniel Weston—drove their wagon train from Georgia through central Florida to establish a cotton plantation near Kissimmee Creek. Samuel Weston died young without children and his estate passed to Nathaniel who continued to run the plantation until his death in 1865. Nathaniel's nephew, John Hargrave, took over management of the plantation and developed it into one of central Florida's most successful cotton plantations during the late 19th century. The Hargrave family sold portions of their holdings in 1917 to purchase land northeast of Weston which they used for cattle grazing and agriculture until they sold it all in 1954 to establish what is now Polk County as its county seat. In that year, also, another brother of Samuel Weston married Bathsheba Flowers (1820–1899), daughter of Colonel George Flowers (1792–1865). From this union came two families who were integral players in earlyWF history: first cousin Bathsheba Flower Wade married her uncle Samuel Biddle Watkins (1793–1868) later becoming one of America's most renowned civil engineers; secondly cousins Edwin Augustus Dowling Wade (1800–1860) married Eleanor Goodloe Baynton (1800–1876). These marriages helped create a group culture that blended African American slaves with white free people from earlyWF days up until emancipation following Reconstruction era ended in 1865 A&P Railroad Co., which had been founded by West Virginia entrepreneur James Buchanan Blaine several years before George Washington Carver arrived at WTJE & Co., entered into Lake Placid Plantation Agreement with National Agricultural Bankruptcy Court on October 25th 1907 pursuant To Which National Agricultural Bankruptcy Court granted Trusteeship To Polk County July 10th 1909 For The Purpose Of Dissolving And Restructuring All Our Banks Afflicted Withdeep Debt Thereafter This Agreement Is Recorded By Registrant At Miami Dade Courthouse On November 3rd 1910 As follows: "WTJE & CO.'S LAKEWOOD PLANTATION" - On September 12th 1912 WFJE applied For Grant Of Insolvency Against US Government Securities Incorporating The United States Steel Corporation To Be Known As "Lakewood Corp." In 1847, the Seminole Tribe ceded their land in Weston to the United States. The town was first established in 1853 by Colonel John Turner and Captain George A. Smith. In 1865, it was named after General Ulysses S. Grant, who had fought in the American Civil War. The town became a county seat in 1868 and a city in 1899. It was annexed by Tampa in 1907 and by Sarasota in 1912.
