The coffee industry has been in Wildwood for over a hundred years and it began as a small grocery store run by Mrs. Tift Griggs with her husband Mr. Garvey. In 1916, they opened their first café called the Gourmet Coffee House which served brewed coffee and iced tea from 6am to 7pm everyday until 1946 when they moved to their current location on Main Street which boasts an antique stove that brews its own coffee! Today’s Gourmet Coffee House still serve fresh brewed coffee every day from 6am to 7pm and offers many different types of pastries such as croissants, donuts, bagels and muffins! In 2003, Wildwood became an incorporated town with a mayor and councilors formulating policies and carrying out day-to-day operations under the direction of a sheriff. The community is located on U.S. Route 301 south of Sanford and north of Kissimmee; it borders Orange County to the east, Osceola County to the west, and Martin County to the northwest. According to the United States Census Bureau, Wildwood has a total area of , all land. As of the census[2] of 2000,[1] there were 1,636 people living in Wildwood Township (including portions of unincorporated communities), including 514 households out of which 36% had children underthe ageof 18 living with them, 56% were married couples living together, 12% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31% were non-families. 28% of all households were made up of individuals and 11% had someone living alone who was 65 years old or older. The average household size was 2½ persons and the average family size was 3½ persons; both sizes are more than twice as large as American median averages (1 person/family versus 2 person/household). As Of 1990Wildwoods contained 50 churches but by 2006 that number had dwindled down to just 15 churches due largely to demographic changes within Seminole County such as increased divorce rates among high school graduates etc.; however some congregations still exist scattered throughout various villages around Orlando
