The history of the Wildwood Shooter Gift Shop is one of history and tradition. The shop has been in business since 1947, when it was founded by Elmer “Eddie” Price. At that time, the shop was the only gun store in Wildwood. Mr. Price operated the shop until his death in 1984. His wife, Viola, continued to run the store until her death in 2006. In 2007, Mrs. Price’s son, Darrell Price assumed ownership of the shop and continues to operate it as a family-owned business. The store has been through many changes over its years; but one thing has never changed: The goal of the Wildwood Shooter Gift Shop is to provide customers with quality firearms and accessories at an affordable price. The first firearm that Eddie Price purchased from a customer was an American Rifle Model 9 mm pistol. This early purchase marked the beginning of what would become a long and successful relationship between EddiePriceandhiscustomers. Over time, EddiePricedevelopedafavoritecustomer: Johnnie Cochran Jr., who would come into the store numerous times to buy pistols and other firearms products for use during NASCAR races seasonally across Florida! In 1987, Mr. Price passed away suddenly at age 70 after a long and successful career at the business He was truly loved by his customers and staff alike – he will be greatly missed! Mrs Viola took over as owner after her husband’s death, continuing to runtheshopunconditionallyuntilherdeathin2006). In 2007, DarrellPrice assumed ownershipoftheshopandcontinuestoconsiderasfamily-ownedbusiness.(See Photo Below). Wildwood, Florida is a small town located in Osceola County, Florida. The population was 3,521 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Orlando metropolitan area. Wildwood is known for its golf courses and lakes. The first Europeans to visit what is now Wildwood were French missionaries named Lefebvre and Payen in 1764. They were looking for a place to build Mission San Carlos de las Casas because the Spanish had been raiding nearby areas and taking natives as slaves since the 1500s. The Frenchmen explored more of Osceola County before returning home in 1765. Captain James Wilkinson discovered wild Tobacco plants near present-day Wildwood on October 7, 1775 while exploring the area for new land grants from King George III of Great Britain as part of his survey of British east Florida. In 1812, General Andrew Jackson's army burned all but two buildings in Stonington (present day Miami) during their march through Floridas after winning an election against Jefferson Davis as President of the United States. In reaction to this event, Congress passed a law authorizing Governor John Fenton to purchase 1,500 acres (0.8 km2) of land north of Stonington from Colonel David Stuart for $1 per acre ($24 per hectare). This act created what is now called Northwildwood Park which became one of Jacksonville's most popular tourist destinations due to its natural beauty and accessibility by automobile or public transportation from downtown Jacksonville. Fenton began leasing portions of this land to farmers in 1819 and continued doing so until 1840 when he sold it all except 685 acres (246 hectares) located near present-day Naples where he built Fort Myers Beach Pier on May 12, 1841 with funds provided by Senator William Hasell Prescott who also donated money for other projects within Jacksonville including making it into an incorporated town with a government that would be representative not only of citizens but also affiliated businesses within town limits Governor John Dixie purchased 1,000 acres (4 km2) adjacent to present-day Naples on March 10th 1922 from Mr Arthur Waddell after being made aware that there was potential development there that could provide employment opportunities for local residents along with creating access roads between both towns .
