Wilton Manors is a small town in Brevard County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,828 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2000 census, Wilton Manors had a total population of 2,624. The first Europeans to sight and colonize what is now Brevard County were Spanish explorers in 1565 who named it La Isla de Santa Maria del Carmen (Island of Holy Mary). At that time there were no settlements east of Stonington Bay on the Atlantic Ocean other than Key West and Fernandina Beach. In 1635 Captain John Smith discovered an island to the northeast called Santa Lucia and he named it after his patron saint; this led to more English names being given to areas including Wellfleet Harbor (1639), Lucerne Strait (1645), Pensacola Bay (1648), Indian Harbour (1714), and finally Wilton Manor when England acquired it from Spain in 1763 as part of the Treaty of Paris following their Revolutionary War victory over France. In 1821 Jacksonville was founded by General James Wilkinson as a result of his purchase from Governor Manuel Key Catalina de Narvaez key's land grant extending along both coasts from Fort Lauderdale northward into what is now Orange County. When Wilkinson died in 1825 his land grants were divided among his three sons: James Wilkinson junior received portions around Melbourne and Live Oak, while Edward Wilkinson became manager for all southeastern Florida; Isaac Brock received a tract near Pensacola; and John Brock got rights to most of central Florida including present day Brevard County. Moses Levy purchased 640 acres northwest of downtown Jacksonville in 1827 which included parts that are now known as Old City Park or President Street today’s downtown Jacksonville skyline area with its prominent Federal courthouse – one block southwest corner today’s State Capitol building on Everglades Road just north side Talbot Avenue today’s Broadway Theatre across street from old Jax Drugstore/Bargain Store on Second Street between First Avenue north side Main Street east side east end opposite old Post Office building bounded by Fourth Street west side Court House Square southeast corner Jackson square facing Market Square where Stonington Naval Dockyard used to be located until 9/11/2001 when it burned down due to winds blown over it by hurricanes Andrew and Irma) resulting in lossof nearly two thirds off original acreage so much so that development has been limited greatly since then only ranches remaining with some apartment buildings scattered throughout park which includes Hialeah Mall located within walking distance also miniature golf course located within park boundaries By 1830 there were about 350 people living inWilton Manor according to Commissioner Price but they increased rapidly during Reconstruction period when free blacks started moving into newly regained property freedby Union soldiers during American Civil War 1861-1865 many becoming farmers or entrepreneurs like Hiram Berryman who operated an unsuccessful sugar cane plantation near present day Interstate 95 exit 23 southbound only 10 miles from Jacksonville but produced high quality sugar cane still extant prior to Hurricane Floyd causing extensive damage September 2007 destroying plantations house crops barns power lines water reservoirs did significant$$$ worth restoration effort completed 11/2015

Wilton Manors is a town in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. It was founded in 1887 by Captain Wilton H. Macy and his wife, Emma Macy. The town's name is derived from English meaning "height of the palm trees." The population was 9,593 at the 2010 census. The manor house where Captain Macy lived for many years now houses the Wilton Historical Society Museum. The society also operates an agricultural museum which exhibits tools, equipment and animals used in agriculture throughout history. In 1914 Captain Macy donated land to build what is now called the Palm Beach County Courthouse Square. He also donated $5,000 to start the Palm Beach County Library system, which he served as its first director. In 1967 he endowed both the Commodore John P Du Pont Institute of Science and Technology (now known as DuPont Institute) and Stonington Hall School in honor of his daughter-in-law Ann Schieffer Macy. Captain Wilton H Macy died on December 17th 1946 at age 95 years old and was buried with full military honors at Fort Meade Cemetery near Washington D C
