The Wilton Manors National Guard gift history can be traced back to 1909. At that time, the Florida National Guard was established as a volunteer organization of citizens. The first commander of the unit was Captain James M. Smith. The first uniforms were made from cotton twill and linen and were donated by Mrs. John Fenton Keyes of Jacksonville, Florida. In 1917, Captain Wm Haddock assigned Colonel Harry Swayne as the first commanding officer for the unit. In 1941, during World War II, the National Guard was activated for war service under the provisions of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Executive Order 9104. With a population of over 120,000 in Wilton Manors alone, it was not possible for every individual to become a member of the guard; therefore, quotas were set forth for each municipality in order to maintain equality within the military force throughout its entirety. In 1949, through legislation sponsored by Representative Bob Graham (D-FL), all volunteers who had served in any capacity with or without pay since September 1st 1944 were given full retroactive benefits retroactive to December 31st 1948 – an act which helped preserve racial segregation within the Armed Forces at that time while also contributing to soldiers’ morale and patriotism during wartime times when they could not receive promotions or monetary compensation because they had prior service records dating back before 1947 (i.e., Army Air Forces). Today there are approximately 2200 members active duty and Reserve components among whom is a battalion command detachment stationed at Fort Polk in Louisiana/New Orleans area along with units located throughout America including Airmen Regional Support Command Naples-Fort Myers Beach FL Site Commander; Headquarters Company First Battalion Miami Infantry Regiment deployed at Fort Myers Beach FL; Troop Command Squadron One Hundred Seventy Four Currently quartered at Logistical Area Eighty One near Ft Lauderdale FL w/ deployable equipment)

Wilton Manors is a town in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. The population was 3,890 at the 2010 census. The town is located on the eastern edge of Tampa Bay and serves as an enclave for the city of Tampa. It is bordered to the north by Lakewood Ranch and to the east by Clearwater Beach. The town was established in 1916 when several farmers decided to move from their farms into a new community on Lighthouse Key Peninsula that they had discovered while visiting Fort Myers, Florida. The name "Wilton" originated from one of these original settlers, Wm. Blyth Wilton, Jr., who purchased land in 1915 from J.P. Morgan & Co.. Today's town center was built around this early nucleus of residents with its two churches – First Presbyterian and Congregational – as well as mills and other businesses including Dixie Chicken restaurants (now known as Chick-fil-A) and a small grocery store which served local people until 1984 when it closed due to lack of customers. In 1954, Wilton became part of Hillsborough County after Hillsborough County voters passed an election measure allowing annexation by neighboring Pinellas County because of its high population growth rate during that decade. As part of this annexation process, Wilton annexed much larger neighbor Clearwater Beach which at that time included 1,500 residents compared to just 100 residents in Wilton itself! Today's downtown area is anchored by two blocks composed of large limestone buildings dating back to 1917: First Presbyterian Church (built originally as a Baptist church), now home to the Samuel Kress Museum; and Second Presbyterian Church (built originally as a Methodist church), also home to the Clearwater Beach Historical Society Museum before becoming Home Depot headquarters in 2006 before being sold again in 2015 to property developers who plan to convert it into an apartment complex with retail space on top which would be leased out for private events or concerts through live music venues such as Hmarket Amphitheater which has seating for up TO 150 people! The economic activities present today include service industries such as manufacturing (including auto parts), transportation/logistics/manufacturing support services, light industrial production including construction materials handling services and related productssupplier companies (most notably Pinstripes Towels)and restaurant/bar clientele primarily consisting of retirees living nearby Parkland Hospital or Cuban refugees settling down in our close proximity who have chosen our wonderful community for both socialization reasons AND easy access To Interstate 75 shopping malls located only minutes away!!!!

Wilton Manors is a small town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 10,554 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami–Fort Lauderdale–Pompano Beach metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1887 by Wilton Hinson and his brother Jameson Hinson. It became a city in 1907 and merged with Doral in 2002 to form the new city of Wilton Manors. The Biltmore Estate, now a private residence, was built by Jameson Hinson in 1912 as a summer home for friends and family. Manor House Museum has been located on Main Street since 1922 and is open to the public every day from 9am to 4pm from May through October; during November through March it is closed for renovation. The museum contains replicas of several American homes including one purchased by Woodrow Wilson for $2 million in 1918 and used as his presidential White House Office Building from 1921 until he left office in 1933. In addition, the museum includes important artifacts from local history such as pioneer days and items related to aviation such as an airship hangar that once housed two Wright brothers Flyers. In 1985, the City of Wilton Manors passed an ordinance establishing bilingual education opportunities for allResidents within its boundaries through Teach For Americaprogrammes across county government which have led to over 50% increasein Hispanic representation within municipal government since then
Wilton Manors was a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States at the time of the American Civil War. The town was located on the north bank of the Kissimmee River, about 12 miles (19 km) east of Fort White and about 16 miles (25 km) west of Tampa. It had a population of about 1,000 residents at its peak in 1865. The town was founded by John Wilton in 1851 as a cotton plantation near what is now Polk County. In 1861, it became part of Confederate Florida during the American Civil War. The Union garrison withdrew from Wilton on April 15, 1865; all but one Infant were evacuated before Confederate General Robert E. Lee arrived to take them prisoner. After the war, Wilton manor returned to ownership by John Wilton's son-in-law George Washington Bond until it passed into state hands in 1903. The present-day town of Wilton Manors was platted in 1909 by Hernando De Soto and his son William Waring bondholders who claimed that they had discovered an ancient Indian Trail leading from Tampa to Kissimmee which linked with older Indian trails running through central Florida
