Winter Park is a small city in Broward County, Florida, United States. The population was 9,589 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami–Dade metropolitan area. Winter Park covers an area of , making it one of the largest cities in southern Florida. The earliest known inhabitants of Winter Park were Alachua tribe members who lived on the east side of town until 1828-29 when they moved to what is now downtown and began hunting deer, bear and other game. In 1892, a group of businessmen from Tampa bought land northeast of downtown and named it Winter Park after George Washington Winters, their president at that time. When new annexations were made to Broward County in 1913, Winter Park became part of northern Broward while Palm Beach became its southern terminus. In 1954, when Coral Gables was annexed into Miami-Dade County by then- municipality (now county), much controversy erupted over which city should have first had its own police department; Palm Beach or Winter Park? That issue was finally resolved in 1957 when both cities amalgamated their departments under one command with Chief Ed Foley as the first executive officer for both jurisdictions. From then on, municipal officers were also appointed by county commissioners to serve staggered two-year terms on separate boards responsible for firefighting and public safety issues within each city limits; this arrangement continued until 1987 when all cities consolidated into one single organization with Chief Foley as its commanding general. In 1795, when Frenchman Pierre-Marc Brouillet came up with the idea for blending different roasts together into a single flavor profile known as “single origin” coffees – this is when cafés truly got their start! Since then, espresso drinks have become staples across many cultures around the world; even people living in Third World countries enjoy some form of espresso every day! However, there are still a few places where artisanal coffees reign supreme – these include Indonesia’s Java Mountains (where Sumatra meets Java), Africa’s Gabon Highlands (home to both grower cooperatives and high altitude bean production), Italy’s Tuscany region (where whole bean coffees are hand-picked), Spain’s Aragonese Iberian Peninsula (located just north of Barcelona), French Provence/Alpes-Maritimes region (west of Nice), and Brazil’s Amazon Rainforest (where rainforest-raised beans are popular).

Winter Park was founded on December 15, 1892 by George A. Washington Brower and was named for President James K. Polk's winter home in Georgia. The city has grown rapidly since its incorporation as a city in 1964 and now has over 60,000 residents. The first settler in what would become Winter Park was Mr. Edward Jablonski who arrived on October 6, 1892 from Illinois with his family and three horses to purchase 3 lots east of State Road 7 between US 1A and US 1B (now known as Third Street). On November 12th, 1892 Mr Jablonski married Miss Anna Laughlin at St John's Episcopal Church located just west of present day First Street NW. In 1893 they moved to their current location which included their house on the northwest corner of First and Second Streets NW where they resided until 1915 when they moved to their current home on Fourth Street NW which still stands today as a private residence used occasionally for events such as weddings or Christmas parties held by friends or family
