In 1938 annexation completed by then Mayor James Peele gave Winter Park its current boundaries which include Northwest 2nd Avenue corridor from I-595 to US 41 (the Turnpike), Northeast 3rd Avenue corridor from US 41 to NE 34th Street (SR 527), Southwest 2nd Avenue corridor from NE 34th Street to NW 7th Boulevard (US 1/SR 509), Northwest corner lot along SW 8th Ave., East boundary line following NE 36th St./Washakie Ave., including land currently used by Coral Gables Duval Golf Club & Country Club . A new City Hall was constructed in 1949 which served until 1959 when Spring Hill Civic Center replaced it which served until 1987 when another City Hall was built which again serves as our current City Hall building that has been expanded twice since its initial construction
