The Boise City Air Force Station was founded in 1946 and is one of the first air force installations in the United States. The station served as a home for bomber, fighter, and helicopter pilots during World War II and continues to be used by the USAF today. In 1957, the Air National Guard detachment moved to the station and it became an active duty military installation. In 1987, the Air Force activated its own Detachment 1 at the station which provided basic training for ANG personnel. It was also through this detachment that Lt. Col. Tom Smith received his commission as a colonel in the USAF from General Colin Powell. Through all of its history, Boise City has been home to many service members who have made their mark on American life orOperation Desert Storm- Operation Neptune’s Spear-. As we inch closer to 2020 and America celebrates its 375th birthday year, it is important that we take a moment to remember these past heroes and their contributions to our country- both before and after they served!
The Air Force Deployed Gift program is a Specialty Programs Office initiative that allows the Air Force to send gifts to military members and their families stationed abroad. The program was initiated in 2006 and allows for the purchase of items such as books, software, clothing, electronics, etc. The gift can be sent directly to the soldier or family member, or it can be delivered through an intermediary such as UPS or FedEx. This program has been successful in providing toys for children in war zones and unique gifts for special occasions.
The Boise City Air Force Reserve Base has a history of deploying gifts to local communities. The base has given away items such as radios, toys and clothing to children in need since the early 1940s.
Boise City (population: 97,000) is the largest city in Idaho and one of the most populous in the United States. It is located on the Snake River Plain at the confluence of Boise Creek and Nampa Creek, about 15 miles south of Boise Airport. The city was founded in 1882 by James S. Rice, who named it for his hometown, Boise, Idaho. The present-day city was incorporated in 1907. The city is home to several universities and colleges including Boise State University (BSU), Idaho State University (ISU), and Eastern Washington University (EWU). The local economy is based largely on service industries such as trucking, construction, manufacturing, retail trade, and government services. The population has grown considerably over the past few decades; according to the 2010 census figures, the population increased from 71,815 to 97,000 within 10 years of its founding. The history of Boise City begins with James S. Rice's donation of land to become a permanent settlement on which to build a new town. Rice had been born in 1851 in Ohio and came west when he was 17 years old tojoin his father in what would eventually be called Boise City. He purchased 640 acres of land from John Crampton for $10 per acre – an amount that would later grow into an all-time record for donations made during American Indian Wars era charity drives across America. In addition to creating a town site on his donation tract for development purposes only – no buildings were ever erected – Mr. Rice also donated water tanks and other necessary infrastructure needed for settler life including a schoolhouse and post office building as well as roads and sidewalks connecting his new townsite with nearby villages/towns along Snake River Valley eastward towards Oregon Territory through what are now neighborhoods called East Village/West Village etc., today’s downtown area developed primarily around East Village/West Village streetscore areas bounded by 5th Avenue South & Euclid Avenue North & South Meridian StreetEast Village/WestVillage Streetscore Areas
In the early days of the Air Force, Gift History was an important part of the organization. Gifts were given to support Air Force missions and were often sent as a thank you for service. Today, many air force members are still Thank You gifts from their past. One of the most famous Thank You gifts in Air Force history is the Boeing 727-232 flown by General Jimmy Doolittle during World War II. This plane was specially designed by Boeing and was used for strategic bombing raids against Japan. The gift was received with great acclaim by General Doolittle and his subordinates. Another Thank You gift from the Air Force is the Lockheed L-5A Starfighter aircraft which played a significant role in AIR FORCE ACTION TWO (ASSAULT ON THE TANK). This plane successfully bombed targets in Germany while flying over enemy territory without any loss to its own pilots or aircraft. The gift was well received by all involved and helped increase public support for United States involvement in World War II.

The original name of the city was Washington City until it changed to Boise on November 30, 1871. The first post office in Boise City was established on December 3, 1869. The population of Boise City grew rapidly from its beginnings thanks to the opening of new businesses and transportation options such as the railroad. By 1886, Boise had reached 100,000 people and became one of America's largest cities. In 1907, Boise became part of the newly created state of Idaho and officially adopted the name "Boise" on October 21st that year. The city has since undergone various transformations including becoming a center for agricultural production during World War II; transitioning into a technology hub during the 1990s; and emerging as an energy destination in recent years In addition to its economic value, Boise also boasts unique attractions such as Ada National Forest located just south of downtown; Hayden Lake State Park located east of downtown; Idaho Stadium which hosts many professional sports games throughout the year including Super Bowl XLIII in February 2013; multiple art galleries throughout downtown; several libraries including one within walking distance from most hotels/motels; numerous retail shops including JCPenney anchor store located just north of downtown (now Macy's); restaurants like Ben & Jerry's inside Pepsi Center (closed 2017), Red Lobster outside Raley Field (closed 2009), QFC inside FedExField (closed 2019), Pappas' Pizza in southeast corner off I-5 near interstate exit 16A (no longer open); several shopping centers across central ID with mall anchors like Sears or Macy's - all within walking distance from each other The history and culture associated withBoise are vast and include items dating back over 120 years. One example is Ada National Forest which experiences over 6 million visitors every year who enjoy hiking, camping, picnicking and fishing among other activities Today there are many active businesses operating out of what once were small towns in central ID that continue to contribute positively to local economies by providing essential services such as job training or marketing research assistance for companies looking for new locations
The city of Boise, Idaho was founded in 1882 by George W. Boise and his wife, Anna. In 1907 the city was named for General John C. Fremont because he had served as its first mayor. The City of Boise grew rapidly after it became a municipal government in 1903, and by 1912 it had a population of over 100,000 people. By 1925 the population had increased to over 200,000 people and the city became an important regional center for agriculture and industry. In 1959 the city was merged with surrounding Ada County to form the City of Boise-Ada County combined government.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is responsible for the United States space program. The agency was created in 1958 as part of the American Civil War effort to extend national airspace. It merged with other agencies, including the Department of Commerce, during World War II. In 1969, NASA was transferred to the Department of Defense and became an active participant in the Cold War military space race. After a series of budget cuts in the 1990s, NASA resumed its efforts to explore outer space and land on Mars.
