Chubbuck is a town in Idaho, United States. The population was 1,851 at the 2010 census. It is located in northeastern Ada County. The town of Chubbuck was founded by George Custer on November 15, 1868, as a post station on the Oregon Trail. The first settlers were men from Illinois and Wisconsin who had been on the trail for four months. They named their new town after John Chubb, an American fur trader who had died in Russia before reaching Siberia. In 1870, the Union Pacific Railroad arrived in Idaho and built a line between Boise and Chubbuck. On May 10, 1871, Chubbuck replaced nearby Deadwood as the capital of Ada County when that county was created from portions of two other counties: Nampa and Payette. In 1886, James Moberly set up a gristmill in Chubbuck which became one of the largest mills west of Kansas City until it closed in 1922. In 1907-08, repairs were made to the original Placer Mine #1 (now known as old Noakhali) which yielded coal so rich that it led to its being renamed "The Black Diamond." - In 1914-15 construction began on what would become known as "Chubby's Dam," which greatly increased irrigation water availability for surrounding agricultural land - In 1933-34 developer Ethel Bemis erected what are now know as "The Townhouses" (the current structures date back to 1935)

First was the development of green-bean farming methods that allow for greater precision in production; second was an increase in interest in bean-to-cup ratios; and third was the development of boutique cafes that focus on crafting unique cups of coffee. Chubbuck is a small town in Idaho, United States. The population was 511 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Boise–Nampa, ID Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1868 by James Chubb, an Englishman who had come to the area to prospect for gold. The first permanent settler arrived in 1870 and named it after his friend and business partner, Caleb Chubb. In 1872, settlers built a log cabin on the edge of what is now Chubbuck Elementary School. The names of some early citizens are still remembered today: John Brown (1871-1955), Hiram Sibley (1873-1948), and Harry Waddell (1875-1964). In 1901, Milton Hargrave donated land to create the current site of Chubbuck Elementary School. A post office called "Chubb" was established in 1902, and remained in operation until 1959. In 1907, Jens Jensen opened the first store in Chubbuck. By 1909, there were nine stores in town; fourof them operated as corner stores within walking distance of each other on Main Street. In 1923, ownership of most of what is now downtown Chubbuck passed from Jens Jensen's heirs to Stanley Crowne & Sons Coal Company Limited Partnership through gift and sale; this company became known as First National Coal Corporation later that year when First National merged with Nabisco Incorporated%. Thereafter little changed until World War II when most businesses closed or were taken over by military contractors; during that time much damage was done to buildings due to bombing raids conducted by USAAF planes flying overhead during wartime negotiations for mining concessions across western Tibet which would open up vast new oilfields under Tibetan control! After the war local businesses slowly began again but soon faced competition from outside forces beginning withthe opening of Interstate 90 which sliced through eastern Boise County creating many job opportunities for locals as production increased along both sides of I-90! Today nearly every business property within one mile radius has been redeveloped or rezoned into something else including two medical clinics/ rehab centers combined with a Walmart! With so much change happening throughout such a small community it’s hard not to get lost amidst all this development but it’s definitely worth taking a walk around if you want some unique perspective on history...
