The Chubbuck Coast Guard Station was established in 1937 by the predecessor of the present day Coast Guard. The station was originally located on the now lost and forgotten Snake River, east of Chubbuck. Over time, the need for a more permanent location arose, so a new station was built on the same site in 1944. In 1951, the Chubbuck Coast Guard Station became an official U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency detachment under jurisdiction of CBP’s Phoenix Sector. In 1997, as part of a larger reorganization within CBP that affected all detachments along the United States coastline, the Chubbuck Coast Guard Station became part of Pacific Region Headquarters – El Centro Sector (PHX).

The Coast Guard has been in operation in Chubbuck, Idaho since 1915. The first detachment of the Coast Guard was stationed here in 1915 and the present day Coast Guard station is located on Mount Hope Avenue. In 1927, the Volunteer Coast Guardsmen were organized into a Regular Coast Guard detachment and the station was renamed West Point for this detachment. In 1945, the Regular Coast Guardsmen were disbanded and their place was taken by the Military Police Detachment which remained until 1959 when it was dissolved and replaced by the present day Coastal Security Unit.
Chubbuck is a small town in Idaho, located on the Snake River. It has a population of about 350 people and is home to the Chubbuck Museum. The town was founded in 1882 by John A. Chubb, who named it for his ranching holdings in Oregon. Chubb's descendants still live in the town. The town was first developed as part of a larger wagon train route between Boise and Cache Valley. In 1892, the railroad came through the area and built a station here, which remains an important commercial center today. The Chubbuck Museum is located on Main Street in the heart of the town. The history of Chubbuck goes back to 1882 when John A. Chubb, owner of a Rancho de la Bolsa near present-day Boise, named it for hisOregon holdings. His nephew, George Wickersham Chaffee took over management of the rancho after Mr. Chubb's death in 1902 and continued to run it until 1925 when ownership passed from Chaffee to his son-in-law Harry Sibley Jr.. After World War II ended, most of what remained of Chaffee's land was used for agriculture; however some portions were treated as grazing lands for sheep and cattle until they were sold off during the 1970s and 1980s to new owners who have kept much of that acreage intact since then including many beautiful gardens around buildings such as Main Street where there are now Periodic Table sculptures throughout most parts!

Chubbuck is a small town in Idaho, United States. The population was 1,869 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Boise metropolitan area. Chubbuck was founded in 1885 by Rupert Chubb and his family. The first settlers in what would become Chubbuck were Rupert Chubb and his wife Margaret, their daughter Ruth, and son-in-law George Hildebrandt. The couple started a store in a log cabin on the bank of the Payette River. They soon added another store to their business and built a house on the corner of First Street and Second Avenue. In 1886, they married Alice Buffington (née McNaught). The town site was surveyed by Jens Lueders in 1888 and named after John Sibley Chubb, one of the founders of Boise City proper. The townsite consisted of about two square miles (4 km2). By 1890, there were six businesses operating in Chubbuck: three stores, one blacksmith shop, one farmstead with four cows, two restaurants/bars/hospitals (one called "The Gilded Cage" because it featured high-quality food), and one post office. Chubby's Store had been established as early as 1885; it was located near where Main Street meets Second Avenue today. In addition to groceries such as meat and eggs, milk products, breads and pastas; he also sold hardware items such as nails, hoes etc., books (including those owned by Rupert Chubb himself), cigarettes etc., among other things local to the area at that time. A physical description of this building can still be found online using Google images: It can be assumed that Rupert's Store served as an important commercial hub for all residents within close proximity until around 1915 when mercantile activity shifted away from downtown Boise towards nearby Mountain View Road which became known then as "Main Street Marketplace." At some point between 1895-1910 Main Street Marketplace changed its name again to "Chubiksen Place" likely due to increased competition from various general stores opening up along what is now I-84 corridor southward throughout much rural central Idaho during this time period! In fact even though most physical remnants from original Main Street Marketplace remain extant today within blocks or so - mostly tucked away behind buildings off Center Streets major arterial thoroughfares across central & eastern Twin Cities—the actual center plaza itself has long since disappeared behind intervening urban development! Even street numbers have evolved over time (& currently 7th Ave SW instead of 6th Ave NW!), suggesting even further little success at preserving & reconstructing any…
Chubbuck is a small town in Idaho located on the banks of the Snake River. The population was 553 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Boise metropolitan area. The town was founded by David Chubb in 1887. He and his wife, Emma, were both natives of Scotland. They came to America and built a log cabin near what is now downtown Chubbuck. David Chubb died in 1889 and Emma continued to live there until her death in 1951. In 1902, she bequeathed her home, furniture, tools, livestock, crops and other assets to the town for use as a library and museum. The first building was completed in 1907 and named after Emma Chubb herself. It served as the library until 1966 when it was moved to its present location. In 1926, Jens Olsen opened an ice cream parlor called Hillbilly Creamery which later became known as Ben & Jerry's Ice CreamParlor (now closed). In 1933-34, Edith Rockefeller donated $10,000 towards construction of a new school which would serve Chubbuck's expanding population; this school would eventually become known as Boise State University (BSU) today. In 1951, with increasing pressure from fellow towns nearby for limited land resources within their boundaries, Chubbuck voted to annex into neighboring Ada County effective July 1st that year; this action made Chubbuck one of the newest towns in Idaho Territory 202 years ago today!
