The Rexburg National Guard was organized on July 1, 1907. The first national guard unit to be organized in Idaho was the 5th Regiment, Idaho Volunteer Infantry Corps. It was disbanded on October 10, 1912. On November 8, 1916, the 3rd Regiment, Idaho Volunteer Infantry Corps was reorganized and redesignated as the 4th Regiment, Boise National Guard. The regiment served in World War I until it was disbanded on September 15, 1918. In 1921 the 6th Regiment of Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps (WAC) formation took place in Rexburg when a local organization of women decided to become a part of the military establishment in response to then-national emergency created by President Warren G Harding’s call for volunteers to fight in World War I. On December 9, 1921 the WAC regiment numbered 936 members and became known as the 936th Expeditionary Unit (later redesignated as Headquarters and Headquarters Company). In 1933 HQ Company became an all female company with elements serving with distinction during World War II under Commanderin Chief George C Patton’s command including Operation Neptune Spear which liberated Normandy from Nazi forces during World War II. At its peak there were over 2200 women who served with Headquarters and Headquarters Company from 1933 through 1945 inclusive; however many women left before hostilities ended due to various reasons such as pregnancy or service at home after Pearl Harbor devastation brought about by Japan’s attack on Hawaii less than two months earlier on December 7th 1941 also creating an emotional vacuum within army units that needed experienced leaders for war time planning purposes only men could serve at that point so some womens companies did exist but their rosters were much smaller than what is now typically assigned to nationalist guard units according todaychow data if 2009 troop strength levels are taken into account wac companies currently assignedto nationalist guard troops stationedin western idaho do not exceed 1000 members therefore making these organizations far more robust militarily than they once were
The National Guard is a military reserve force in the United States. It consists of reservists, Professional soldiers, and civilians who are called up for a short period of time to help with events such as natural disasters or riots. The National Guard was activated on September 14th, 1792 when President George Washington ordered all male citizens over the age of 18 to turn in their swords and hilts for inspection. This order was given to make sure that no one could use the militia against him or his government. The first national guard unit was organized on December 6th, 1792 when Governor John Adams called out 3,000 men from Massachusetts to help fight in the French and Indian War. The first national guard unit in America were made up of professional soldiers from New York City who served under General Richard Montgomery during the American Revolution. These soldiers were known as “the units” because they were divided into companies based on their city of origin. After the Revolutionary War ended, many men who had served in the national guard decided that they wanted to stay home and keep their weapons while also trying to start their own businesses. On July 4th, 1800, Congress passed an act that allowed state militias to be turned into national guard forces if they desired so. The first state militias turned in their arms on October 1st, 1800. By 1802 there were 25 states with militaries composed mostly of professional soldiers and reservists rather than local citizens which helped improve relations between different states during times of peace or conflict. In 1903 Congress decided that every individual should have at least five days (or three weeks) worth of supplies including food, ammunition, water storage devices, and medical supplies in case of an emergency outside the United States. This law was known as “The National Defense Act” and it gave people like generals and admirals more power to manage resources better so that we can survive any type of emergency abroad without having our troops fall behind schedule or get overwhelmed by enemy forces! After World War II ended there were several changes within both military and civil life within America which included mass recruitment into both military forces (which happened after Vietnam) as well as a decrease in numbers among active duty military members due largely to AIDS/HIV scares at this time; however there has been recent growth back towards these numbers especially within California’s National Guard!
The Rexburg National Guard was organized on November 9, 1916. The guard originally consisted of 150 men and the first unit was stationed at what is now the Rexburg Armory. On December 3, 1916, the first battalion of the national guard was organized and it headquartered at Fort Boise. The battalion eventually became a regiment and in 1917, it relocated to Pocatello. In 1925, the 1st Battalion moved back to Rexburg and served until 1938 when it disbanded due to World War II military service. In 1946, the 2nd Battalion of the national guard was created and it headquartered in Idaho City until 1957 when it relocated to Garden City-by-the-Sea. From 1959 until 1961, the 3rd Battalion of the national guard was also activated and headquartered in Garden City-by-the-Sea before being decommissioned for good on May 15th of that year. Since 1962, there have been only two units left active with members currently serving out their three year enlistments or probationary periods as part of an Army Reserve status: The 1st Cavalry Regiment (Chinook) which is based out of Simi Valley; and The 5th Infantry Regiment (Mountain Home) which is based out of Coeur d’Alene.
Rexburg is a small city in Idaho, located on the Snake River. The population was 2,575 at the 2010 census. Rexburg is the county seat of Butte County and it is also home to the University of Idaho, one of only two university campuses in the state of Idaho. It is also a center for agriculture and ranching. Rexburg was founded by Mormons who arrived in 1877 from Utah. The first post office opened in 1879, and Rexburg became a town in 1890. The name "Rexburg" comes from Mormon pioneers named Reuben and Emma Rex. In 1907, Rexburg became an agricultural center with land holdings that included 1,500 acres (600 hectares). There were few industries until World War II when there were several military plants and munitions factories built here including M-1A2 carbines for America's army and navy; P-47 Thunderjets fighter planes; tanks; aircraft carriers; oil rigs;and other equipment manufacturing plants. During World War II, many people left Rexburg to join the war effort overseas or find work elsewhere due to rationing. After the war ended, many people returned to their farms while others began developing new businesses such as restaurants and stores which have been around since 1945. Today, many aspects of life in Rexburg are based on agriculture: arts & crafts; tourism; transportation services; real estate development; farming activities such as cattle raising and hay production
The National Guard has a long and varied history, dating back to the Revolutionary War. The first national guard units were raised in 1775 for the purpose of providing security during the war. Over time, these units have become more specialized and have been used for a variety of purposes including peacekeeping, disaster relief, and military parade and ceremonial events. Today, the nation's guard is composed of over 82,000 troops spread across 43 states. Units are organized into regiments and brigades with command posts located throughout the country. The Guard is responsible for an array of functions from patrolling our borders to providing support for state Constitutions. In addition to its traditional roles in defense and ceremony, the Guard also plays an important role in local communities by engaging in many civic activities such as hosting fundraising events or serving on community boards. Rexburg, Idaho is a small town in the state of Idaho. It is located about thirty miles northeast of Boise and about seventy-five miles southwest of Moscow. The original settlers in Rexburg were businessmen who arrived in the late 1800s. The town was named for General James J. Rex, who fought in the Mexican–American War and was honored with a national award. Rexburg has experienced growth over the years, most notably during World War II when it became an important munitions production site. Today, the town is home to a large population of military personnel and their families as well as some other businesses and services.

In 1914, Rexburg became home to the University of Idaho and later to Boise State University. The city also developed into a major transportation hub, with both passenger trains and trucks servicing the area until after World War II when buses replaced cars as main means of transportation.
