Fox Lake is a town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 7,691 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The Fox Lake Police Department was founded on December 2, 1875. The first police officer to be hired in Fox Lake was John D'Angelo. D'Angelo had been born and raised in the town and served as an officer for three years before moving to Algonquin Park Township where he became sheriff. In 1881, he moved back to Fox Lake and began serving as captain of the department until his retirement on July 1, 1896. From 1875-1896, there were six captains with the patrol unit; however, due to budget cuts during World War I they only had three captains at any one time. In 1926-1927 Captain Harry Kapp took command of the department while Superintendent Jens Larson resigned after being charged with federal bribery charges that would later lead to his impeachment by Congress but which were eventually dropped due to lack of evidence. Kapp then served under Superintendent George Ault from 1927-1930 before becoming acting superintendent when Ault left for political reasons in 1930. Kapp then returned to duty as captain from 1931-1935 before becoming assistant chief from 1935-1938 and finally acting chief from 1938-1945 when he succeeded Lieutenant Colonel Don Salyer as head detective bureau (HDC). In 1945 Captain Milton Weisman succeeded Colonel Weisman as head detective bureau (HDC) and continued service until his death on October 3, 1949. On November 12, 1922 Captain James Withers officiated at the dedication of a new building at 201 North Broadway which housed both the barracks for officers and their families along with a squad room used by detectives for training purposes; this building still stands today within walking distance of City Hall across State Street from its original location next door on Washington Avenue near Northwestern School District No 5 headquarters building now home to Stop & Shop plaza inside Sears Tower between State Street and North Michigan Avenue . This brick building originally consisted of two stories with sidehall entranceways flanked by two stories each containing an office/storage loft/laboratory addition above street level accessed via elevator doors located on either side of main stair case going up one story into what is now internally accessible vestibule off lower hall leading into large attic suite surmounted by turret housing public dining facilities including splendid opulent marble fireplace complete with carved plaster mantelpiece commanding fine views out over cityscape . During this time period substantial detective work was accomplished against serious crime including multiple arrests resulting in convictions such as those made January 4th 1923 Serial rapist John Doe who testified against him at trial Hearings held pursuant thereto resulted in conviction April 20th 1924 felonious assault upon Mrs Mabel White resulting in imprisonment September 6th 1925 theft valued at $5 worth of candy bars from store clerk Mrs Minnie Bozarth we will not repeat here again because it could serve no useful purpose other than trying several offenders over again thereby lengthening our prosecution process ) On January 25th 1928 Major James Snively took command effective February 1st 1928 Snively had previously been Acting Inspector General since late 1947 under Director John McCloy who relinquished position effective June 30th 1946 having been replaced by Assistant Director Richard Nixon following investigations related to McCloy's firing ). On May 15th 1932 Second Lieutenant Earl Haggerty assumed command effective July 1st 1932 After serving as Third Battalion Commander during World War II With Headquarters Company stationed at Camp Dodge Haggerty also assumed command duties attached thereto conducting operations outsource battalion commander duties ) Fourth Lieutenant Donald Ellerbe taking over on September 8th 1934 Upon completion Of Basic Training At Rock Island Naval Hospital Ellerbe became First Sergeant August 15th 1934 He remained sergeant until promotion To Second Sergeant On November 13rd 1936 He became First Sergeant Againeffective February 14th 1937 })

CTG still operates today as an independent newspaper publisher with its own printing presses inside and outside of Chicago. Butch Cassidy &The Sundance Kid was shot at Fox Lake in 1951 while filming nearby Clearwater River Ranch which would become one of Hollywood's most famous sets during that time period; since then, much has been done to restore or repurpose this property namely building new homes overlooking the river now used for film shoots seasonally once again!

After a few years, an addition was added that offered public education for all students up to age 21 with free tuition if they could prove their literacy level above 7th grade reading level and maintain attendance for 3 months per year (in addition, any student who resided in Fox Lake for more than one year must sign an affidavit stating he or she will not use or molest any school supplies). In 1840, additional rooms were added to this building which served as both a public library and meeting hall for local government meetings until it burned down in 1865. In 1846, Isaac Brockman donated land on which FoxLake Landing would be built – this became home to many businesses and residents living there before being demolished in 1942 due to wartime bombings Ellsworth Air Force Base used it as storage during World War II while construction began on neighboring Racine AFB.
