Gun gift history in Huntley, Illinois begins with the purchase of a rifle by John Huntley in 1839. The rifle was used to shoot corn, wheat, and other local game. The family continued to use the rifle until it was donated to the Huntley Historical Society in 1951. The society has been keeping the firearm and its many components in storage ever since. In 1865, Abraham Lincoln was shot while sitting in his house on McClellan Street in Springfield. Many people in Springfield believed that General John A. McClernand had killed President Lincoln and they riots ensued. One man who bore responsibility for these events was Samuel Colt who provided arms for the rioters. Samuel Colt later became president of Colt Firearms Manufacturing Company which produced firearms such as pistols and rifles for both law enforcement and civilians. In 1910, Huntley residents voted to add a city hall annex to their town square downtown. This addition is now known as City Hall Park and played an important role during the early years of Huntley’s existence. In 1918, Mayor Harry Caughlin dedicated City Hall Park as a memorial to all those killed or injured during World War I efforts including members of theHuntleys’ family who lost loved ones serving with distinction overseas at that time- father George Matson (from Chicago), mother Mildred (from Peoria), brother-in-law Edgar Fenton (from Decatur), sister Evalyn (from Lombard), sister Louise ( from Bloomington) and niece Maymee Henson (from Chicago). The first gun show held in Huntsville occurred on October 10th 1903 when 100 citizens from various towns across southern Illinois gathered at Old Post Office Square to view new Winchester Model 1887 shotguns being exhibited by Wm J McNaught & Sons of Normal ILUSAINBURY Conn., At this event Rev G P Dearborn served as Mayor pro tem from Illinois USAINBURY Conn.. It should be noted that some $2,500 worth of shotguns were sold at this event featuring models like the Winchester carbine (.30 caliber), Remington 870 shotgun (.30 caliber) pump action repeater Rifle model 1899 chambered for .50 calibre rimfire roundsand also several handguns including two Colts revolvers - one 6 inch barrel/semiautomatic revolver offered by Mr McNaught for $1 each plus shipping charges; These guns were made between 1895 through 1897 under special order from Henry Lee & Co., Philadelphia PA USA In 1909 Sheriff Al J Smith put on a pistol exhibition consisting of three types each made by different manufacturers at his home located off New Market avenue near West Side Highway; From left To right: Browning Buckmark Automatic Pistol 2nd Generation semiautomatic target revolver automatics American Arms Auto Pistol 3rd Generation semi auto target revolver automatics Stevens Detective Gun No 7 9mm Luger automatic pistol - All weapons were displayed live fire except Automatics Nos 5 thru 8 which were demonstrations fired by agents under direct supervision of Sheriff Smith

In Huntley, Illinois, the history of gun gifts dates back to at least 1868. That year, a group of men and women organized themselves into the Huntley Rifle Club and began purchasing firearms and ammunition. The club soon became well known for its high quality firearms and ammo. In 1897, the club purchased a rifle from James Fenton, who had emigrated from Scotland. This firearm is still in use today and is considered one of the most famousHuntley rifles.
Huntley is a small town in Macomb County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,028 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Huntley is located on the edge of the Quad Cities education and research area and it has been home to many large organizations including Northwestern University, Brown University, and Purdue University. The first settler in Huntley was John Cockerill who arrived in 1820 from Edinburgh, Scotland. He erected a log cabin on what is now Main Street. In 1825 he married Anna Hutton and they had two children: James (1826-1908) and Maria (1829-1920). James Cockerill became a physician in Huntley and served as mayor from 1878 to 1880 and from 1886 to 1890; he also served as vice president of the Macomb County Board of Education. In 1881 John Cockerill died at age 81 while still living in his log cabin; his wife Anna took over tenancy for their son James until her death in 1893. After Anna's death, James moved into an abandoned farmhouse on Cass Road which he rebuilt into what is today known as "CabinJohn". In 1896 he wed Lulu Jane Toombs; they had one child before she divorced him three years later. Articles about Huntley have appeared sporadically throughout history but there has never been a definitive journal article or book chronicling its history until now! Huntley was officially incorporated as a village on November 2nd 1907 by order of then Mayor Wm J Adams with 300 residents voting yes! Incorporation marked not only an important step forward for Huntley but also signaled increased social activity within this small community due to new opportunities for economic development brought about by post-war advances in transportation technology! From its early days through prohibition era days & present day; Huntley has seen some great changes both good & bad!

Huntley, Illinois is a small town in Calumet County, Illinois. The population was 1,856 at the 2010 census. It is the most northerly community in Cook County. Huntley was first settled by Dutch immigrants in 1836. The town was laid out as a place called "Hurst" on the east side of what is now Elm Street. In 1842, Mr. and Mrs. Henthorn purchased land from the Indians and laid out Huntley as it exists today on lands they donated to the government for that purpose. The first post office in Huntley was established on December 12, 1846. A shop and other buildings were built soon afterwards on North Main Street near present day Elm Street; this store remain an important part of Huntley's history to this day. In 1854, Drs., Mr.'s Sons & Daughters of Mrs Sarah Latham opened a dispensary here; this dispensary remains one of the largest in Cook County to this day and continues to offer many services including health care for local residents and tourists alike! In 1861, Pte John Smeaton of Company F (1st Regiment) United States Colored Troops arrived at Huntley with his unit en route to Vera Cruz Mexico during the American Civil War; he became known as "Jimmie Smeaton" because his family could not afford horses enough for him to ride back home so he rode all the way! After service ended in 1865 he returned home via train!
Huntley, Illinois was founded in 1836 by Captain Jameson Hunt and his wife Mary. The first post office at Huntley was established in 1837. In 1856, the town of Huntley became a village. On October 17, 1875, the Village of Huntley merged with the Town of Bloomington to form the City of Bloomington.
