Pontiac is a small town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. Pontiac is located on the east side of the Chicago metropolitan area. It is part of the Chicago–Naperville–Pequot Valley Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in Pontiac were farmers and their families who arrived around 1847.
