As coffee beans were first grown in the Dyer, Indiana area, it was likely that many of the early roasters and cafes were founded by local artisans. This is evident in the history of coffee as well as other industries in the area. The first coffee shop in what is now Dyer opened up in 1892 and served a blend of Turkish and African coffee. It was not until 1959 that an Italian cafe, Don Giovanni's Coffee House, opened up right next door to the current Starbucks location. In 1970, Don Giovanni's closed down due to financial problems and it wasn't until 1988 when another Italian café called Pianobarolo opened up on Main Street which still serves today as one of the most popular espresso shops in town. In 1995, Starbucks purchased Don Giovanni's Coffee House which gave them access to all of their archived inventory including recipes and customer comments from their time at the shop. Since then, Starbucks has continue serving delicious artisanal coffee every day with a focus on quality and sustainability.

Dyer, Indiana is a small town in the southern part of the United States. The population was 2,546 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Vanderburgh County. Dyer was founded in 1819 by Nicholas Dyer and his family. The first post office in Dyer was established in 1821. A store and wagon shop were built on Main Street in 1827, and a school was started in 1830. In 1840, a jail was built on Main Street. The first train to reach Dyer arrived here on May 14, 1849 from Council Bluffs, Iowa with 146 passengers. A sawmill began operations here in 1850 and continued operation until 1953; it produced lumber for buildings and other purposes for many years before being closed down due to factors such as automation and competition from other mills near by.

Dyer is an unincorporated community in Wexford Township, Posey County, Indiana. It was established in 1868 by Jacob Dyer and his family. The population was 10 at the 2000 census.

Dyer is located in the small town of Elkhart, Indiana. The community was founded when a group of men, women and children decided to move from the larger city of Terre Haute, Indiana. The town was named after Daniel Dyer, one of the founders. The first permanent settler in Dyer was John Dooley. He arrived in 1827 and started building a house on what is now Main Street. In 1829, he married Catharine Conners and moved into his home with their four children. over time other pioneers also arrived and soon there were several families living in Dyer. In 1852 Drury & Company built a mill on the river near what is now Wright Boulevard. This mill provided many jobs for locals and helped to grow the community. By 1860 there were about 20 people living in Dyer. In 1865, the Elkhart Railroad was built through Dyer and brought many new settlers to the town. Soon schools were established as well as businesses including a store, livery stable and post office. By 1870 local residents had built around 30 homes including six churches which remain today among some of the oldest structures in town!
