In 1926, Evansville became the first city in Indiana to establish an air force. The purpose of the air force was to provide defense against enemy planes and missiles. Today, Evansville has a large Air Force Base and three fighter jets squadron which serve as alert for any emergencies in the area. In 1941, during World War II, Evansville played a significant role in the war by providing munitions for the American forces. In 1946, when the Cold War began, Evansville joined other American cities in forming what was known as “The Space Race” with their goal of becoming a space-faring civilization. The city's strong aerospace industry continues to this day and has contributed significantly to both domestic and international security efforts over the years.
The United States Air Force (USAF) is a military service of the United States which is responsible for providing aerial support to its allies and conducting air operations in all land, naval and air domains. The USAF was created as an arm of the Department of War on July 1, 1947. The USAF traces its origins to World War I when a group of American pilots flew into France to provide humanitarian assistance following the war. Today, the USAF employs more than 108,000 people across 66 bases in 47 countries. In Fiscal Year 2017, the USAF budget was $164 billion. In recent years, members of the USAF have expressed frustration with what they see as government indifference to their needs and concerns about future threats from Russia and China. They worry that unless Congress takes action, they will be forced out of existence by 2025 or 2030 without any opportunity for personnel replacement or reform. This paper seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of how the USAAF functions both within its own borders and abroad so that policymakers can better understand their priorities and make informed decisions about where they should focus their resources in order to ensure that national security continues to be oneof America’s top priorities

The history of airforce gift giving begins with World War I. The USAAF was founded in 1917 as the American Military Airways Corporation, which provided air transportation for troops in Europe. During World War II, the USAF became part of the United States Army Air Forces and First Defense Division (later Ninth Air Force). In 1945, the USAF was merged into the United States Navy and Third Defense Division (later Eighth Air Force). Today, there are three USAF wings:the 9th Wing at Seymour Johnson AFB in North Carolina;the 10th Wing at Pope AFB in Arizona;andthe 11th Wing at Dyess AFB in Texas. Each wing provides an aggregate total of more than 137 thousand personnel across 36 states and Puerto Rico.

The United States Air Force was founded on December 15, 1947 by the General Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force (GHQ-AEF) as the American Forces in Europe. The USAF became operational on February 1, 1948 when it was created from elements of the United States Army and United States Navy. On September 11, 2001, al Qaeda terrorists attacked the World Trade Center and other targets in New York City using hijacked airliners. The resulting air disaster caused a great loss of life and destruction that has never been fully repaired. In commemoration of this tragedy, Congress passed the Air Force One Museum Act on October 26, 2006 which allows for the donation of any old or unused aircraft to be donated to the AFB museum for display and research purposes. This act also authorizes an annual appropriation of $100 million for airforce gift history research and development. In addition to these gifts from private citizens and government entities, some uniqueaircraft have been donations by governments around the world including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany., Italy., Japan., South Korea., Spain., Sweden., Switzerland., Taiwan. There are many types of aircraft donations being made today including transports such as Boeing 727s and Airbus A310s; fighters like Lockheed P-38 Lightning Sabres; bombers such as McDonnell Douglas MD-11 Familyamarqueans; helicopters such as Bell 407 Buffalos; trainers like North American Aviation T-6 Texan Jetfighters; amphibious warfare vehicles such as M1A2 Abrams tanks.; ground support vehicles like M548 Patton Tanks.; artillery equipment including 155mm howitzers.;and even communications gear like UHF radios which can be used with military units all over Earth
