The first coffee shop in Fishers, Indiana was opened on December 5th, 1978 by Dick and Delores Sikes. The business continued to operate until March of 2003 when it closed its doors for good.
Fishers is a town in Vigo County, Indiana, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Indianapolis metropolitan area. Fishers was founded on April 20, 1836 by General James W. Fisher and his brother-in-law Obadiah Hicks as a small community on the banks of the White River. In 1861, after Indian Wars ended with their surrender of all Indian assets in Indiana to Congress, General John Pemberton requested that Fisher build him a military post so he could monitor Treaty negotiations between the United States and Great Britain over control of the Northwest Territory. On October 3, 1861, General Pemberton's headquarters were moved from Fort Wayne to Fishers when it became apparent that Fort Wayne would not be able to keep up with his needs as an army garrison. The first building in town was a log cabin used by George Stephenson for his locomotive testing range during construction of the Indianapolis & Michigan Railroad. The first store opened in 1837 at what is now Old Main Street and Clark Road; it was called "Fisher's Store". A mill built around 1840 began operations under license from William Henry Harrison; it still operates today asthe First National Bank building which also houses an art gallery and museum open to the public on weekdays from 9am to 5pm (and closed Mondays). On December 15, 1846 Major General David Hunter signed an order authorizing Colonel Samuel Hensley to construct a road from Lafayette through Fishers into Logansport via Bloomington on behalf of Ulysses S Grant during his campaign against Lincolnshire County officials who had refused to recognize Grant as President effective January 1st 1865 due to lack of evidence connecting him directly with any treason or murders committed while he held office as colonel in that county/province preceding January 1st 1865! The road became known as Hensley Road after its builder - Colonel Samuel Hensley himself! In 1854 settlers started arriving in what would become known as downtown Fischer’s Mill which sat along current Fourth Street near State Road 362 until 1949 when it was destroyed by flooding following heavy rains caused by Hurricane Ornette. Downtown Fischer’s Mill remains today just beyond current day East Market Street where there are several large businesses including KFC and PayPal located today thanks largely to original infrastructure laid down back then such as bridges spanning White River! Downtown Fischer's Mill became home (appropriately) for many years beginning in 1954 when American Motors Corporation relocated their manufacturing facility from Toledo Ohio across I-465 eastward into present day downtown Fischer's Mill providing good jobs for local residents displaced by Automobiles production shutdown while they were still being built! By 1984 American Motors Corporation vacated their factory site making available – once again – development much needed job opportunities within walking distance for locals residing within Harold’s Addition neighborhood adjacent to downtown Fischer’s Mill giving hope finally returning some sense stability & purpose back into those neighborhoods long blighted since before “General Motors left town” !

The beans were roasted and ground by small farmers before being brought to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where they were sold to European traders. In 1795, Antonio Fernández de la Vega founded the first coffee plantation in the area that now includes Buenos Aires. Coffee was not popular at first because it was a very expensive crop to grow and export, but over time it began to be accepted as a primary source of income for many Argentine households. In 1848, José Joaquín López de Santa Cruz established the first coffee factory in Argentina. This factory became one of the most important sources of coffee for Argentina and Europe.
Fishers, Indiana is a town in northeast Indiana. The population was 3,583 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Terre Haute, IN Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first mention of Fishers was on April 21, 1810 when James Fenton wrote to his brother John in Fort Wayne that he had seen "a small village called Fishers" and thought it might be a place worth exploring. On July 9, 1811, Elisha Holmes sent two men from Miami County to explore the area and found what would later become known as Fishers. On October 10, 1812 Arent Haggerty became the first settler in what would become Fishers when he erected a log cabin on the banks of White River. In 1814, the United States surveyor General David Dixon made an overland trip through central and northeastern Indiana and discovered that there was land for sale east of the mouth of the White River. He offered $1 per acre to anyone who could purchase it. Of course, no one wanted to buy any land near the mouths of rivers! But Dixon's offer encouraged some farmers to start farming in this new region so they began constructing their own homes and outbuildings around what would eventually become known as downtown Fishers. How did this name get its start? In 1865 local businessman Palmyra Ladd decided to rename his growing town after Samuel Morse (the inventor who developed Morse Code). He purchased 800 acres (30 km2) along White River where he built many miles (kilometers) long Railroad spur track leading northward from Terre Haute towards Indianapolis and other centres in Northwestern Indiana until his death in 1924. With Ladd's help, fishers became an incorporated community with a full-time post office on December 5th 1865
Fishers was founded in 1824 by John Fisher. The town was named for General James Mattis, who helped fight the French and Indian War. In 1851, the town became a county seat of Posey County. In 1902, it merged with McLean County to form Monroe County.
