The Lebanon-Fayette Combined Statistical Area had a population of 1,912 as of July 1, 2014. The history of Lebanon goes back to 1814 when it was founded by John Lewis and other refugees from Philadelphia who were fleeing the British Invasion. In 1827, two brothers named Ira and Andrew Hill founded what would become Lebanon after purchasing an area near present-day Noblesville. In 1829, James Murtagh bought land east of Noblesville and developed it into what is now Lebanon Township. On December 12th, 1847, the first post office was established in Lebanon with Wm Fenton as its first clerk. Lebanon has experienced many changes over its history including becoming a city in 1907 when it merged with neighboring Fayette Township; changing its name to Beirut in 1945 following World War II when it became part of Palestine; experiencing major growth due to industrialization during the late 19th century which led to increased trade and commerce throughout town; declining economic activity during the 1930s as mills closed down and industry shifted away from production; increasing population growth during recent decades resulting in more development within town limits - culminating in annexation by Howard County in 2001 which made it an official incorporated community within the county government.

Lebanon, Indiana is a small town in The Hoosier State ofIndiana. It was founded on November 3, 1827 by George and Jane Addams. Lebanon has a population of around 2,000 people today. The Addamses were the first settlers in what is now Lebanon. In 1871, they moved to Terre Haute, Indiana and became the first white family to live in that city. They left behind their extensive agricultural holdings which are still administered by the Addamses today. Lebanon's history can be traced back to its establishment as a village on November 3, 1827 by George and Jane Addams. At that time it was part of Montgomery County and had a population of just over 100 people. By 1830 it had increased to about 150 people and by 1840 it had reached about 200 residents. By 1850 it had passed 500 residents and by 1860 there were 1,500 residents living in Lebanon. The village rapidly grew due to its location at the mouth of the Little Miami River which served as a transportation link between larger towns along the Ohio River such as Cincinnati (to the south) and Indianapolis (to the north). This trade connection helped make Lebanon one of the most important villages in central Indiana during this time period. Additionally, because Lebanon was situated within easy reach of surrounding farms, many farmers developed significant land holdings there which continue to be managed today. As early as 1847 local resident James Fenton built what is now known as "Fenton’s House" – one of only two buildings standing from that era remaining in Lebanon – for use as an office for his farmer friends who rented out land near him for farming purposes. This office functioned until about 1870 when farming ceased to be an important economic activity in Lebanon so much so that "Fenton's House" became nothing more than a ruinous tangle of timbers surrounded by farmland once again." In 1871 Mrs Jane Addams moved from Illinois with her children Charles Darwin (1848-1912), Alfred North Whitehead (1850-1925), Winifred Wright (1852-1931)and Harold Washington (1858-1945) She arrived with her husbandGeorge Addams on October 15th; they would eventually become America's first white family to reside outside Of Africa when they moved into their home at 24 East 12th Street on December 17th., 1879." TheAddAMSes would remain active in Indiana until their death on May 8th., 1942 due to natural causes at age 80 years old."
In 1814, the United States of America acquired land in what is now Lebanon, Indiana. It was part of the Louisiana Purchase. The land was purchased by a group of investors led by Andrew Jackson. The first settlers in Lebanon were men from Illinois. They arrived in 1815 and built a cabin on the east side of the river. In 1816, they started a farmers’ cooperative to help them grow crops and build their own homes. The town of Lebanon was founded in 1820 by John Harger and others from Illinois. It grew quickly because it became an important point on the road connecting Indianapolis with Vincennes,Indiana. Lebanon had a school in 1825 and a Methodist church in 1830. A post office was established in Lebanon in 1840, but it was discontinued due to lack of mail service at that time.
