Lebanon, Indiana is a small town in the state of Indiana, located in the Northern Indiana metropolitan area. The population was 5,711 at the 2010 census. The village of Lebanon was platted in 1853 by two men, Elijah Woods and John Waddell. It is located on the west side of Monon Lake and lies within Porter Township. Lebanon is one of five townships in Porter Township. It was organized as a township on November 14, 1853, from part of Whiteland Township. On February 20, 1905, it became a village; however, on December 15th that year it ceased to be an incorporated town and reverted back to its original name of Lebanon. Lebanon, Indiana is a small town in northern Indiana. The population was 527 at the 2000 census. Lebanon was founded in 1836 by James S. Williamson and his family, who came from Virginia.
