New Castle, Indiana, is the capital of the U.S. state of Indiana and the seat of New Castle County. The population was 54,711 as of 2019. It lies on the border of Indiana and Pennsylvania in Hennepin County, north of Minneapolis and south of Chicago. The city's area is 5 square miles (14 km2). The first permanent settler in what would become New Castle was Nicholas Gist in 1788. He purchased a tract of land east of present-day downtown from John Armstrong for $1,000. In 1812, James Kapp founded Kapp & Company tavern on State Street which still stands today and is one of the most popular tourist destinations within walking distance from both the City Hall building and Fort Dearborn Park across from Steel Pier Landing where Kapp had built his wharf warehouse/museum in 1856. In 1827, Richard Mapes bought an adjacent farm for £3 per acre (about $640 per km2) that became Mapes Township (now part of Bloomington). At this time it included much rural countryside including what is now downtown New Castle along with parts now within Elk Grove Village to the north and West Allis to the south; today’s South Side neighborhood occupies much or all that former township before annexation by Bloomington in 1896 followed by annexation by Des Moines in 1960. Settlement continued apace with new construction into what would become downtown New Castle starting about 1830 when Benjamin Fenton erected a saw mill on Main Street between Third Avenue and Fourth Street just west side OF central business district now called “Old Town” Downtown New castle was platted as demonstrated by a grant dated 3rd Nov., 1830 from Govt.-Govt.-Proprietor Nicholas Gist to surveyor David Lewisohn entitled "Newcastle Grant". This plat also shows 2 Lots 14-16 acres [560 m²] lot 38 lots 20 feet long x 8 feet wide x 4 feet deep lots 18 rods long [580 cm²] were sold together." After years more organized development began through purchases or donation outright mostly coming from individuals such as David Lewisohn who continued until 1865 when he donated his entire block bounded by Fifth Street North - Sixth Street East - Seventh Street South which forms modern day Middlebury Square developed out largely due to contributions made especially during Civil War era such as Elijah Pillsbury who contributed over 100 acres (40 ha) later becoming known as Pillsbury Park which extends well beyond Old Town boundaries currently occupying portions opposite First Avenue NE just east side Interstate 35W ramp

Fresh roasted coffee continued to be enjoyed by Europeans until around 1800 when plantations were started up in East Africa, Indonesia, Brazil, and Africa. By 1825, most of the present-day continents had some form of coffee plantation or mill running – except for Antarctica which still does not produce any quality fresh-roasted coffee.

New Castle is a city in central Indiana, United States. The population was 17,859 at the 2010 census. It is the seat of New Castle County and had a population of 23,569 as of 2015. The name "New Castle" originated with the English colonists who founded the town in 1701. The first permanent settler in New Castle was Nicholas French, who arrived on October 3, 1701. French named his new town after his father-in-law Sir George Carteret who had helped lead British forces against the French at Quebec City two years earlier. French built a small cabin near what is now downtown New Castle and started trading goods with local Indians. In May 1684, France granted land to Colonel John Smith for settlement and development along the Hiwassee River. By December 1, 1701, when English Commodore Edward Vernon sailed into Indian Bay with 10 transports carrying supplies for Fort Stroud (now Nashville), French's colony had received its charter from King George I of England as an Indiana Territory under which it functioned as an independent government exercising self-government within royal limits subject to royal wiser direction. In 1824–25 James Kapp erected a large frame courthouse on Main Street that still stands today; it served as county court until 1958 and has been used by several other jurisdictions since then including Ashtabula County and Kosciusko County before being sold to New Castle Township in 2018. During much of its history New Castle was known primarily for agriculture because this was one of the few opportunities available to early settlers due to favorable geography and climate conditions: highlands east of Interstate 465 provide excellent growing seasons while nearby waterways made shipping possible year round without fear of pirates or floods during winter months. However some manufacturing did take place beginning with brewing operations on Main Street in 1828 by William Sennett; however this stopped soon afterward due to competition from larger cities such as Indianapolis or Chicago which were able to build more efficient factories using newer technologies at that time. By 1930 banking operations were also starting up but quickly petered out due mainly to prohibitionism although a few businesses did remain open such as grocery stores through World War II until they closed due to changing economic conditions brought about by military hardware procurement quotas set by Congress following World War II . After Prohibition ended in 1933 all remaining alcohol production stopped except for ceremonial purposes only; thereafter most businesses closed down either because they could not compete or because prohibition made business so difficult that many simply folded their tents rather than continue trying to operate against government regulations which became even more stringent after repeal led directly into WORLD WAR II . At about this time some people decided that enough was enough and began moving away from rural areas towards larger cities where job opportunities were abundant despite still being subject to government regulation seeking justifications like national security concerns etcetera well past 1949 when INDIANAPOLIS COMMUNITY BANKERS & TRADE CORPORATION WAS CREATED TO PROVIDE THE FINANCIAL SUPPORT NEEDED FOR INDIANAPOLIS BUSINESSES TO CONTINUE OPERATING WITHOUT BEING SUBJECT TO GOVERNMENT RULE MAKING AND OTHER COURSES ESTABLISHING NEW YORK CITY HEavily Commercialized). This migration followed what can be thought of as displaced persons policy pursued by Roosevelt’s administration following WORLD WAR II – American citizens who remained living abroad unable or unwilling return home due various political reasons such as post-war recession/depression (the Great Depression), fears over communism ( suspicions aroused particularly since Franklin D Roosevelt took office) among others— leading ultimately To increased concentrationsof urban populations around major URBAN AREAS OF COMMERCIALIZATION WHICH PREVAILED AGAINST DISPOSSESSIVE ACTION BY LOCAL GOVERNMENTS THAT WERE SEEKING TO PROTECT THEIR OWN POPULATIONS FROM INVESTIGATIVE INVESTIGATIONS BY OUTSIDER SITES.).
