A number of important events have taken place in Peru over the years including World War II when it played an important role as both an airbase (hosted fighter planes) and munitions depot; 1970s when due to its location near Evansville it experienced increased traffic; 1990s when following market changes it became one of only two towns directly impacted by new economic opportunities that sprung up around Evansville; 2000s through 2010s when Mayor Tim Fenton pushed for upgrades to infrastructure within town limits which led to more jobs being created along with new housing developments; 2018 marks 50 years since incorporation into village status!

In 1924, Perry County was created from part of Delaware County when that county split into two parts following the United States Census Bureau's report on racial divisions within U.S. counties . At that time, Seymour/Lafayette formed part of Perry County while Lima remained part of Delaware County
