Zionsville is located in Washington Township, La Grange County, Indiana. The town was founded in 1837 by Ezekiel Zions and his wife Sarah. In 1872, the town was burned to the ground by a mob. It re-emerged in 1880 as a small community of about 200 people. In 1912, Zionsville became the capital of La Grange County.
