Since then, these aircraft have been used as part of various training exercises and deployments with both state and federal partners including: participate in Operation Iraqi Freedom; take part in international deployments such as NATO's Joint Expeditionary Force Operation Noble Eagle; support operations within U.S. Central Command during Operation Neptune Spear; and participate in numerous Air University ROTC programs throughout the United States and Canada.
Indianola is a city in Johnson County, Iowa, United States. The population was 7,848 at the 2010 census. The community was founded in 1879 by John Sinton and his brother-in-law Moses Green. It was named for the Indianola Creek that flows through it. The first post office in Indianola was established on February 14, 1879, and operated until March 3, 1880. In 1881 the town received its charter from the state of Iowa. On May 20 of that year, an act to incorporate the town became effective and it held its first meeting on June 5th under the name "Indianola". The current name of Indianola was given to it by a group of citizens on December 10th, 1987 after hearing about another small town called "Iowa City" in Illinois that had lost its charter due to lack of support from its citizens.
