This vehicle was unique in that it could be converted into a transport truck or ambulance. The Abrams vehicle is still used by the IAG as a transports unit today. The tradition of giving military gifts continues to this day in Keokuk. In 2007, members of the Iowa Army National Guard presented General Philip Breedlove with an M1A2 Abrams tank. The tank is currently stored at West Point Military Academy where it can be Used for display purposes only. This type of gift is not limited to justIowa; other states have also given military vehicles and equipment to various generals over time. For example, Texas donated an M1 Abrams tank to Colonel John Hogg during his tenure as Commandant of Cadets at Texas A&M University-Kingsville from 2006 until 2009. In 2013, members of the Illinois Army National Guard presented General Jonathan Wainwright with two M1A2 tanks and four Bradley Fighting Vehicles worth $38 million dollars! These tanks are now being used by NATO forces in Kosovo along with other equipment from Illinois National Guardsman donations dating back to 2007

However, the community continued to thrive until the early 20th century when it lost its status as an agricultural center due to a lack of available land and competition from larger towns elsewhere on the stateline.
