The Arkansas City, Kansas National Guard is a unit of the United States Armed Forces. The National Guard was created on July 1, 1865 as a result of the American Civil War. The first units were called the 3rd Infantry Regiment and the 2nd Cavalry Regiment. The National Guard has been in operation in Arkansas City since 1871. It was organized as an infantry regiment and changed its name to the 4th Infantry Regiment in 1903. The regiment served in World War I and World War II before becoming part of the Army Reserve on September 30, 1946. On November 1, 1955, it became an activated unit with full military status under the command of Army Chief of Staff General George Custer. In 2009-10, there were over 21,000 members active in the National Guard in Kansas and across America!

In order to enlist in the Army National Guard, you must provide a Declaration of Intent to Serve Out One Year or More (Form 990-EZ), as well as pay fees and taxes.Once enrolled in the Army National Guard, you are considered an active duty soldier for purposes of federal law. All members ofArmyNationalGuard are required to serve at least two years on full-time duty before being given permission to retire or leave service; however, members may elect not to serve any additional time if they satisfy certain conditions set forth in their honorable discharge certificate ( Form 10-K). The Air National Guards includemembers from both civilian and military aircraft manufacturers as well as pilots employed by those companies. The Air National Guardsmen must meet all requirements set forth by Title 10 Code Of Federal Regulations section 12101 et seq., including passing a physical examination and completing an aviation test administered by a nationally recognized testing authority prior to enrollmentA member organization ofthe Air Force cannot be called into immediate service during wartime without express written agreement from Congress; such agreement must mention that no part ofthe Armed Forces may be used for political purposeA member organizationofthe Navy cannot be called into immediate service during wartime without express written agreement from Congress; such agreement must mention that no part ofthe Naval Forces may be used for political purpose Additionally, each state has its ownAir NationalGuard unit which is subordinate only to the corresponding State Defense AuthorityB However, there are some exceptions:(e) A member organizationofa militia branch which is formed pursuant to State law or Order No 2105(7) issued by Governor John McCain after September 11th terrorist attacks; B) An airmobile brigade assigned specificallyto conduct operations against airborne threats within areas adjacentto combat zones established pursuantglish law by congress; C) A marine corps possesion guard detachment assigned exclusivelyto protect international waters off Florida coast There are also special units known as Task Forces composed wholly or partlyof specially trained civilian experts who work with military forces on counterterrorism missions overseasC Finally, there are independent national guard organizations operating within specific geographic regions knownas Homeland Security UnitsD These units typically have less training than regular army troops but carry out more specialized tasks
The Arkansas City National Guard was organized on October 1, 1861, in response to the Kansas-Nebraska Act. The guard was first stationed at Fort Leavenworth. On November 15, 1861, the National Guard detachment in Pettis County was disbanded because of a lack of funding. The guard's first unit deployed to Missouri in 1862 for duty between Springfield and St. Louis. In 1865, the Arkansas City National Guard served as part of General John C. Fremont's army during the American Civil War. The unit later served as garrison troops at Fortress Sumner in 1866 and 1868 before being decommissioned on September 30, 1870. In 1876, the guard again served with General Fremont during his campaign against Native Americans in Colorado Territory; this time they were attached to Camp Supply near Greeley while other units fought along the Platte River Campaigns (1876-77). Later that year, the Arkansas City National Guard briefly mobilized for service during Reconstruction when martial law was proclaimed by Governor John Evans following a controversial election victory by James Meredith; however no action occurred due to lack of funds and military commitments elsewhere. Governor James Swayne also declared martial law on March 3, 1881 after multiple raids into Hutchinson County which had occurred over previous months; however this declaration did not lead to any actual physical action because there was no central authority overseeing state security forces at this time (the State militia would become operational two years later).
Arkansas City, Kansas (population: 38,763) is a small town located in Sedgwick County, Kansas. It is the county seat of Sedgwick County and home to the Arkansas City Municipal Airport. The population was estimated at 38,763 in 2010. The town was founded by Abraham Lincoln on November 3, 1867 as the landing place for wagon trains traveling from Illinois to Omaha. The first settler in Arkansas City was Deacon George White. The town grew quickly and by 1870 it had a school, store, post office and 2 churches. By 1907 the population had grown to over 10 residents and by 1912 there were 11 businesses in the community including a grocery store, hotel and cotton gin. In 1916 Arkansas City became the official county seat of Sedgwick County after being moved from Topeka. In 1925 the city built its first courthouse which still stands today. In 1930 an irrigation canal was constructed through Arkansas City allowing for larger crops and more businesses developed around it including a meatpacking plant and several banks which continue to operate today including First National Bank of Sedgwick County & Trust Company which has been in operation since 1892. During World War II Arkansas City went into full-time production with many companies manufacturing military supplies such as ammunition and tanks at their local factories as well as supplying food to hospitals across America. After the war many of these industries closed down but some such as United States Rubber Corp., still remain today responsible for creating thousands of jobs within the local economy while also contributing significantly to American history.
The national guard was a military organization in the United States that existed from 1792 to 1957. It was one of the original nine militias established by the Second Continental Congress as an emergency measure during the American Revolution. The first national guard regiment, Company D of Berkshire County, Massachusetts Militia, was organized on July 24, 1792. The militia acted as an auxiliary force for the Continental Army and played a significant role in both the American Revolution and its aftermath. In 1861, when Texas seceded from the United States and formed its own government, many Texans decided to keep their old state militia forces active; these units were known as " Provisional Texas National Guard" or "PNTG". In 1866, all states except New Mexico had National Guards; this changed with Arizona's admission into the Union in 1912. However, it wasn't until 1958 that all states within former Mexican territory became part of the United States through legislation called the National Security Act of 1947 (NRA). This act created what is now known asthe Department of Defense National Guard Bureau. The NRA also made it easier for citizens to join or re-join state militias if they desired; this eventually led to more people joining or re-joining militias throughout America due to their patriotic fervor. During World War II there were over 1 million men who served in our country's military forces totaling almost 45% of all male soldiers drafted into service during that time period according to Selective Service Registration Booklets (SSRB). Almost half (45%) came from California while 12% came from Texas and 8% each came from Oklahoma and Nevada. Of those servicemen who served in uniform overseas (WWII), 82% hailed from California while only 7% originated out of Texas! Nowadays we remember these veterans every day with Memorial Day services held at various locations across America honoring them for their service - whether it be at homecomings after years long deployment or Veterans Day parades where entire communities come together to honor our nation's fallen warriors

Arkansas City, Kansas is a town in Sedalia County, Kansas, United States. The population was 801 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1867 by George Armstrong Custer and his wife Julia Pemberton Custer. The first post office in Arkansas City was established in 1870. The town grew up around the railroad station and businesses that developed around it, such as a grain elevator, grocery store, lumberyard, gas station and cotton gin. In the early 20th century, Arkansas City became an important center of trade for the region because of its location on the Santa Fe Railroad. In 1907, Arkansas City was designated as the capital of Sedalia County. That year saw some significant changes to the cityscape: The construction of a new courthouse and jail made way for more growth; and a new school district was created that included Arkansas City proper as well as portions of what would become Liberal and Bluevale townships. By 1920, however,commerce had begun to decline in Sedalia County; by 1930 only 5% of the county's workforce employed inside of Arkansas City while 80% lived outside of it. In 1935-36 there were several firefights between members of different factions within local police forces during one large insurrection known as "The Great Little Red Scare." Aftermath with bombings throughout Sedalia County following these events led to increased security measures being put into place including almost complete prohibition across much of Wichita Falls area which followed suit soon afterwards
