The company was founded by two men who were interested in creating unique cup of coffee. For years, Joe Coffee Company made their own blends and produced their own brewing equipment. However, over time they started selling pods of their delicious beans through local retailers throughout Central Kentucky. In recent years, there have been numerous other prominent gourmet coffee companies established in Berea. These include Blue Bottle Coffee Company (founded by Jason Keesler), Four Barrel Coffee Co., Cupcake Kitchen & Café (owned by Tyler Florence), and Owl's Head Coffee Co.. All of these companies share one common goal: To produce excellent quality Beans from scratch using only the best ingredients possible.

In 1847, an Englishman named John Bickerton bought a small plantation in central Africa and began to grow coffee. He discovered that the climate there was perfect for growing coffee and soon became one of the leading Coffee Bean Producers on earth. Bickerton's beans were traded all over the world, and he helped pioneer the use of espresso machines in cafes. The popularity of java grew steadily throughout the early 20th century until World War II stopped production altogether. However, during this time many Ethiopian farmers started to replant their beans and produce high-quality coffee again. Today, every town or city has at least one Ethiopian café serving up quality coffee with a unique flavor profile.

After World War II, large companies such as Nestle introduced new flavors of coffee into the market that ruined many small-time bean farmers. However, it is interesting to note that while most major companies have completely stopped making caffeine-containing products (except for some high-end brands), smaller companies have continued to produce quality cups of Joe until very recent times

Today, Berea has a population of around two hundred people and is one of the most important villages in the area. The village first rose to prominence due to its location on the route between Louisville and Lexington. This allowed it to become one of the busiest areas in Kentucky during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Additionally, Berea played an important role in helping to develop both Louisville and Lexington as major metropolises. In 1903, Berea became part of what is now Jefferson County when that county was created from parts of Pike and Logan counties. This made Berea one of the most populous counties in Kentucky; today it has a population nearing three thousand people.
