It has been said that coffee was first brewed in western Kentucky in the early 1800s. The first coffee house in Campbellsville, Kentucky opened its doors in 1892. At that time, the town was only a small farming community of about 1,200 residents. Over the years, numerous small businesses have helped to make Campbellsville one of the most popular places to live and work in central Kentucky. Today, it is home to many interesting and unique businesses including a medical dispensary, a brewery, and an Italian restaurant. One of the earliest customers of the local coffee shop was future U.S. Senator John Fords who stopped by on his way to work one morning in 1893. While there he tasted some of the coffee prepared by our current shopkeepers – Bobbie & Dan – and became quickly interested! Fords later mentioned that “The best cup I ever had was at Bobbie & Dan’s Coffee Shop” Over time, several other business owners have joined forces with Bobbie & Dan at our shop to continue providing quality cup of java for residents of central Kentucky. In 1992 we closed our doors for good but not before leaving an impact on this community as well as countless others throughout Appalachia with our legacy of quality coffee service and delicious food!

The first settler in Campbellsville was George Witherspoon and his wife Margaret (née Caldwell) on December 3, 1814. The first postmaster of Campbellsville was James Caldwell with the establishment of the Campbellsville Post Office on November 15, 1830. At that time there were just five families living in what is now Campbellsville. In 1835 James Caldwell founded the famous J. C. Caldwell Tobacco Warehouse which still stands today and processed tobacco products until 1986 when it was sold to Pabst Brewing Company In 1855 John Elam established a general store and began growing corn for export to China In 1865 JnoMoses Rankin opened up a grocery store in town which continued to operate until 1978 In 1888 white men from Lynchburg moved into what is now Campbellsville and started farming cotton

Campbellsville, Kentucky is a small community in the U.S. state of Kentucky that was founded in 1820. It is located near Louisville, and it is the county seat of Breckenridge County. The population was 1,951 at the 2010 census. Campbellsville is one of two communities in Breckenridge County that are both named for General James K. Campbell, who served as an officer in the Union army during the American Civil War (1861-1865). The first settlers to Campbellsville were farmers who arrived from northern Virginia in 1819. They built their log cabin on a riverbank about three miles south of downtown Louisville. The first post office was established in 1826, and it was called "Campbell's Ferry." In 1830, John Prentice opened a wagon ferry across the River Laverne which connected Campbellsville with nearby Blackwater Settlement on the opposite side of the river. In 1835, General James K. Campbell came to Kentucky and purchased land east of town from Colonel David Dixon for $1,000 cash plus 5% interest on each acre he sold. He began construction on a large cotton plantation called "Campbell's Plantation". The area now occupied by Campbellsville was mostly forested until after World War II when extensive farming became prevalent there because of easy access to markets for food products such as corn and soybeans grown by agriculturists across much of Kentucky and Indiana since those states were part of the Confederacy duringthe American Civil War (1861-1865). The post office remained open until January 6, 1870 when it changed its name to "Breckenridge". At that time, Breckenridge County consisted onlyof parts of DeKalb and Jefferson Counties northward to Lebanon Creek where they joined together to form Clinton County on January 1st,. On February 14th 1861 General James K.' Camp bell died at his plantation while leading an attack against Confederate forces under Brigadier General Elijah Banks at Missionary Ridge outside present day Elizabethtown KY

In 1824, the town became the capital of Kentucky when it was moved from Frankfort to Campbellsville. The city experienced growth during the late 19th century due to its location at the intersection of two major railroads. The population of Campbellsville peaked in 1910 at 27,000 people but declined sharply during the early 21st century due to several factors including economic decline and an increase in traffic on the Louisville- Cincinnati Railroad. However, recent growth has begun to rebound and the population is now approximately 20,000 people.
