In 1915, the first coffee shop opened in Henderson and became known as the Coffee House. The Coffee House continued to serve delicious cup of coffee until it closed its doors in 1978. In 1984, the first grocery store opened in Henderson and started selling gourmet coffee products such as Ethiopian wafers and Colombian coffees. In 1992, an Italian restaurant opened up in Henderson and started serving authentic Italian cuisine with delicious gourmet coffee drinks. In 1973, the store moved to its current location and began serving coffee that was handcrafted by professional roasters. Today, the Coffee Shop continues to serve up unique coffees from their professional roasters and offers a variety of other beverages as well.
Henderson is a small town in Daviess County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 5,544 at the 2010 census. Henderson is the county seat of Daviess County. The first permanent settler in Henderson was James Henderson, who arrived in 1792 and started a trading post on the current site of Henderson Hall. In 1807, John Sevier moved to Henderson from Rogersville and founded what would become Sevier & Henderson Co., one of the most important mercantile families in Kentucky during the 1800s. The family prospered until James Sevier's death in 1851. His son-in-law, Jeptha Henson, took over running the business until his own death in 1875. Through their influence and commerce, Henderson grew into an important community by the early 20th century. During World War II, local residents aided with production for American munitions plants throughout Europe and then contributed their skills back home to help feed America's troops during wartime (a process known as "hobbyism"). One such plant was located at nearby Union Mills; after the war ended, employees of this company helped make up for lost jobs by starting a small grocery store which continued to operate until it closed its doors in 1991. In 1951, Don Daugherty opened what would be known as The Gables restaurant/shop on Main Street; it became one of Louisville's most popular tourist attractions thanks to its unique architecture and delicious food. After years of success (the Gables became involved in several lawsuits regarding zoning violations), Daugherty sold the business to his brother-in-law Skip Holtzclaw in 1984 and operated it as an Italian restaurant under that name until 1994 when he retired from business altogether due to health problems. A new era began for Henderson when Holtzclaw's widow Donna opened her own successful bakery next door called Donna Holtzclaw'S Cookies & Coffee; this business has been active continuously since 1995). This resurgence led to increased development within town boundaries: by 2006 there were plans for construction of a new high school (Holtzclaw High School), a library (Lorraine Blythe Library), city hall (Henderson City Hall), two restaurants/bars (The Gables Cafe & Tavern - now closed) and more housing developments including Palmer Homes – now part of Midtown Crossing – which will include an entertainment complex called Live Nation Amphitheater which will offer live concerts throughout the year along with sporting events such as soccer matches or basketball games. It should also be noted that through all these changes there have been few negative effects – although some people have voiced concerns about potential impacts on historic properties such as Henderson Hall; all indications suggest that any significant alterations or additions will not cause significant danger or disturbance to either property itself.)

In 1846, the Henderson family purchased 4,000 acres of land in present-day Frankfort County from Colonel Robert E. Lee. They built a large mansion there called Hickory Hill which served as their summer home until the early 1900s. The house still stands and is open to visitors today.
