The first military deployment of gifts to the town was in 1827 when General David Hunter led an expedition up the Cumberland River. He brought with him a large shipment of cannons, ammunition, and other supplies for the new Fort Donelson near present-day Lawrenceburg. During his stay in Kentucky, General Hunter also donated land to create Fort Donelson Park. The town of Lawrenceburg grew rapidly during the antebellum years due to the railroad construction that arrived in the area in 1859. Businesses such as grocery stores, saloons, and churches were soon established around what is now Fifth Street and Main Avenue. However, there was no military installation stationed within town limits at this time. In 1861, General Robert Ewell’s Union Army invaded Kentucky from Tennessee and ran into resistance along the way. The battle known as Shiloh resulted in more than 150 deaths on both sides and left much destruction behind. As a result of this brutal campaign, many soldiers who had been deployed to Kentucky decided it was not safe for them to return home again. Some decided to stay behind while their unit fought or retreated; these soldiers became known as “Shiloh heroes” or “the last great army of America” because they helped save many lives during that fateful battle. This period of time saw some very important donations made by local citizens towards military deployments throughout Europe including shipments of food items and clothing for troops on campaigns such as Napoleon III’s Invasion of France in 1870-71 or World War I which began less than two months after President Lincoln announced his reelection via Twitter: “I have ordered our forces off upon another aggressive expedition – America First! Thank you for your patience & support! #Red shirt day #ThankYouUSA” In 1917-1918 alone, Lawrenceburg contributed over $2,500 towards purchases totaling over 20 items including artillery shells and uniforms for American troops serving abroad. These donations reflect not only patriotic love but also financial desperation givencodevelopment at this time was difficultto obtain goods outsideof Louisville – one reason why so many United States Military installations were established during this time period across many different states (e g Fort Benning Georgia). After World War II ended with Victory through Peace no true thank you could be given those who had suffered within its aftermath especially those directly impacted by war like Germany wherearations would eventually be made post-war (see: Weimar Republic). After centuries without any real acknowledgement from either side resultant tension continued until 1969 when then Mayor Osmond Grafton dedicated a park adjacent toFortHarrison located on current day Fourth Street between Elmwood Avenue& Main Street to honor all residents who had served cockpits since Lexington gave its welcome wagon year 1676 AGO . As of 2010, there were 1,493 people living in Lawrenceburg proper while 801 residents lived in unincorporated parts of Lawrenceburg County. The racial makeup of Lawrenceburg as reported by the US Census was 96% White, 2% Black or African American, 0% Native American, 2% Asian/Pacific Islander, 2% from other races, and 1% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino residents made up 4%, or 5 out of 100 people in town (%7th percentile).

Lawrenceburg is a town in Hardin County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 2,564 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Hardin County. Lawrenceburg was founded in 1821 by Captain John Hargrave and Major James Gentry. The first store in town was built on the corner of Broadway and Elm Street. In 1824, Colonel George Rogers Clark named it after General Lafayette as part of his nationwide efforts to promote French culture during the Regency years of England's crown Prince George (later King George III). The town grew rapidly during the early 19th century due to its location on state Routes 10 and 12, which connected Louisville with Vestavia Hills to the east and Lexington with Owensboro to the west. Settlers from eastern Kentucky arrived in droves during this time and began building homes throughout what would become Lawrenceburg. By 1830, there were several stores, a post office, a schoolhouse, a churches (Anglican/ Presbyterian), two hotels (the White House Hotel and red brick Fort Bates Hotel), three Temperance Lodges (Knob Creek Lodge No 1 [KCL1], Knob Creek Lodge No 2 [KCL2], Pigeon Forge Lodge [PIGF]), four taverns (the Hopkins Tavern [HPT],[the] Post Office Tavern [POB]) and five blacksmith shops (- one until 1857) in what became known as "TheTown." In 1828 Judge Elijah Hicks organized an election for township trustees which resulted in Drury being elected President while William Troup served as Vice President; both men held their offices until they were succeeded by their successors on November 15th following an election that yielded no winners. On December 7th Nathaniel Biddle purchased 500 acres adjacent to present dayLawrenceburg from Captain Hargrave for $600 cash plus $10 per acre rent; he leased it out for farming purposes over a period of 20 years beginning September 30th AGG1830-1860 & October 1st AGG1861-1875.#4 Life insurance policies were issued against property values above $500 #2 death certificates filed
Lawrenceburg was founded by George Washington in 1788. The town grew rapidly due to the production of cotton and other industries. In 1814, Lawrenceburg became a city and was named in honor of General Francis Marion.
