The Air Force deployed a gift to Lexington, Kentucky on December 15th, 1941. The gift was the B-25 bomber, which was delivered by the United StatesAAF to the local guard unit at RAF Hounslow in England. The bomber had been specially modified for use in Europe and was christened "Liberator". It soon became evident that this plane would be an important part of the air defense of Britain and its allies during World War II. The Liberator's primary role was as a medium bombers, but it could also reach high altitudes for bomb attacks against targets in Germany and other Axis nations. The bomber quickly became well-known throughout the British Isles and played an important role inOperation Overlord, which led to Nazi Germany's unconditional surrender on September 12th, 1945. In recognition of its contribution to Allied victory, the Liberator was awarded two Distinguished Unit Awards (DUAs). Thanks to its excellent performance characteristics and versatile capabilities, the Liberator is still being flown by American military personnel today.

This proposal became reality when President Lyndon Johnson signed the Nuclear Weapons Reduction Treaty on May 8th, 1968 which eliminated all nuclear weapons within five years of each other. The treaty also banned testing of new nuclear weapons outside of these boundaries. Today, deterrence is still an important factor for the Air Force because it helps prevent another country from attacking our country without provocation. Additionally, deterrence allows us to focus on ourcore missions which include fighting terrorism and defending our nation against any future attacks.

Lexington, Kentucky is a town located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The population was 13,751 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Fayette County and the largest city in Fayette County by population size. Lexington is one of four cities in Kentucky that are designated as "global city" designation by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The other three are Louisville, Kentucky; Nashville, Tennessee; and Knoxville, Tennessee. Lexington was founded on April 12th 1775 by James Wilkinson and his brothers-in-law John Brown and Richard Henderson as a trading post on the Eastern Kentucky Frontier near present-day Paducah, Kentucky. On November 3rd 1801, James Wilkinson's widow erected a large white granite memorial to her husband at what is now downtown Lexington. Additional buildings were erected over time including an opera house/theatre on Main Street (now Circle K), which served as the first public theater in America. In 1865–66 General Andrew Johnson ordered Confederate General Jubal Early to cross into Union territory near present-day Lexington to capture citizens who had sided with Lincoln during the American Civil War The battle between Union troops and Confederate troops known as "Lexington Massacre" occurred on April 14th 1865 when Confederate soldiers attacked Union forces stationed at Fort Donelson outside of Lexington. Aftermath showed that more than 60% of all casualties among Union troops were from these attacks while only 8% were from gunfire exchanges between units engaged in combat In 1870–71 Robert Ewing purchased land east of downtown for $2 million which he used to build what is now called Round Hill Cemetery although original plans called for it to be named “Kentucky State Cemetery” because William Preston Johnston became Governor of KY after Reconstruction ended In 1887 debate began over whether or not to add an interurban railway line from Indianapolis north through central Fayette County but no action was taken until 1893 when $5 million was appropriated for this purpose It wasn't until 1907 whenowntown Lexington voters approved buying land south of its current boundaries from Waco Oil Company for future development – this led to what would become known as Downtown Lexington Development Authority
