Shelbyville is a small town in Pike County, Kentucky, United States. It was founded in 1857 by Daniel Boone and the area around it became known as the "Boone Belt." The town has a population of about 10,000 people. The name of the current Sheriff is David A. Clarke Jr. The first shooting range in Shelbyville was built on property that is now the Nebo Shooting Complex. In 1865, Confederate General Robert E. Lee's army camped here while they were retreating from Gettysburg. Confederate General Stoneman's cavalry camped nearby and shots rang out during their battles with Union troops near this location on July 3, 1865. In 1871, Frank Wessels opened what is today called "Wessel's Gun Shop" in downtown Shelbyville and began selling firearms to residents and visitors alike. By 1912, Wessels had started manufacturing guns himself at his shop (later renamed "Frank Wessels Firearms"). His son Milt continued the family business until 1984 when it changed hands again and became "Wessel Guns". In 1929-1930, two brothers named Johnnie & Harry bought an old sawmill adjacent to Nebo Shooting Complex which served as their home ranges for target practice; eventually becoming one of only a few gun ranges left in Kentucky remaining operational into the 21st century! Today there are six active rifle ranges within Shelbyville proper as well as three pistol ranges - all open to the public! On October 20th each year we commemorate our history by hosting The Dutch Reformed Gun Show where local vendors offer rare firearms from all over Europe!

The Shelbyville Rifle Club was founded in 1909 and has been a physical presence in the city since then. The club has held many Annual Events such as the NRA Show, Gun Show, and BBQ out on their property.
Shelbyville is a small town in Whitley County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 3,822 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lexington–Fayette Metropolitan Statistical Area. Shelbyville's economy depends on agriculture and manufacturing. The first settler to live in Shelbyville was James Witherspoon in 1814. By 1860, only 10 people lived in the town; most of these were farmers or laborers working for local businesses. However, by 1870, there were over 100 people living in Shelbyville, most of whom were farmers or their families who had moved here from other parts of Kentucky and Tennessee. During Reconstruction period (1877-1892), Shelbyville saw a lot of activity due to its strategic location near Louisville and its connection with railroads. Many residents came to work on projects such as building the Louisville & Nashville Railroad through Whitley County (now known as the shipping port of Newport News) and construction of public buildings such as courthouse and jail. Most importantly, many residents worked during this time to rebuild post-bellum America after Andrew Johnson's decision to end Reconstruction by sending troops back into South Carolina instead of using federal funds to help state governments rebuild their economies. During the late 19th century and early 20th century economic growth continued to occur in Shelbyville despite some challenges posed by technological advancements that made farming more difficult and new competition from other industries like textiles and automobiles. Unfortunately for Shelbyville during this time there also emerged problems with race relations which led to increased violence within the community including numerous lynchings throughout the 1910s until eventually being outlawed by federal law in 1924 . In recent years much progress has been made both economically and politically within Shelbyville although some challenges still remain which are addressed through various initiatives such as community development corporations (CDC), job training programs, racial diversity policies, youth programming etcetera

Shelbyville was founded in 1792 by Captain John Shelby and his family. The town was named after General George Washington's birthplace, Mount Vernon. In 1812, the Tennessee Company established a trading post here. By 1830, the population had grown to 1,200 people. In 1841, the United States bought this area from the Indian tribe of Cherokee for $10,000. The town became a seat of government for Kentucky under President James K. Polk in 1846 and then for Tennessee under Governor Donelson Wills until it was redesignated as Shelbyville on February 15, 1907. It is now an unincorporated community in Clay County, Kentucky with a population of 350. The first courthouse in Shelbyville was built in 1836 on present day Main Street. The courthouse served as the seat of government until 1857 when it burned down due to a fire that started behind the building. A new courthouse was built on West Main Street in 1861 and served until 1870 when it caught fire again and burned down. A third courthouse was built on East Main Street between 1865 and 1870 but it also caught fire and burnt down later that year. A fourth courthouse was built onpresent dayWestMainStreetin1887butitalsocaughtfireandburneddownlaterthatyear。 In 1897, three years after becoming an unincorporated community within Clay County., Shelbyville voted to become a city Limits organization with a population of 535 residents (). On July 1st 2000 (the date following county designation), Shelbyville became one-time Mayoralty Borough with its own City Council (). On December 12th 2002 (the date following mayoralty borough designation), Mayor Tom Horton announced plans to annex portions of neighboring Liberty Township which would create a total population of 2,815 residents (). On January 3rd 2006 (the date following annexation announcement), Mayor Tom Horton announced he will not pursue annexations because he believes Liberty Township has enough resources without additional growth
