Airforce gifts have been a part of the Hammond, Louisiana community for many years. The Hammond-based Air Force Base was one of the first military installations in Louisiana and has a long tradition of giving back to its community. The Hammond-based Air Force Base is home to two main wings: The 1st Wing which includes the Kirtland AFB Annex and the McConnell AFB Annex; and The 2nd Wing which includes Fenton AFB, Laughlin AFB, and Randolph AFB. These wing facilities provide housing for airmen and their families as well as administrative headquarters for both wings. The Office of Special Investigations also headquartered at Kirtland AFB Annex from 1985 until 1997 when it moved to Laughlin AFB. In 1992, Headquarters Troops Command relocated from Fenton AFB to Randolph AFB; however, OSI still uses Fenton as its primary base until 1994 when it moved to Laughlin again. Both wings offer civilians access to flight training operations that are available at any time day or night ensuring that everyone in Hammond is able to benefit from military service. In addition, these facilities offer other recreational activities such as golfing, fishing, swimming, cricket matches (as well as air show events) that help keep the local economy afloat during tough times. In recent years there has been an increase in gift donations by members of the Air Force Academy team itself with Lieutenant Colonel Michael Guyton becoming involved in particular since he was made aware of how much good this donation could do for local businesses in town. This type of philanthropy truly embodies what America’s Armed Forces stands for – serving others not just through providing them with supplies or equipment but through being there on behalf of those who cannot serve themselves due to physical disabilities or illness.

Keeping up with what's happening inside the organization keeps you informed about changes that could impact your job security or privileges – never forget why you're there! 3) Volunteerism is another great way for you to show your support for this amazing institution! The Hammond Air Force Base gift history dates back to 1942 when the United StatesArmy’s First Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, was stationed at Hammond. From then untilactivated in 1976, the First Battalion served as Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the 2d Squadron (Heavy) Interceptor Group. The present-day 1st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron is also headquartered at Hammond AFB. During World War II, Hammond AFB housed a number of different organizations including the Army Air Forces Training Command; the Hawaiian Islands Defense Authority; and RAF Alconbury in England. In 1946, Hammond AFB became an air force base and was home to two squadrons:the 9th Fighter-Bomber squadron (later redesignated as the 67th Fighter-Bomber squadron) and the 8th Bombardment Wing which served during both world wars. In 1957, after being combined with neighboring Tullahoma National Laboratory, now known as Loyola University Chicago’s Health Sciences Center – George W. Bush Sr., then President of The United States visited Hammond AFB on October 12th to open that wing of Loyola University Chicago’s School of Medicine relocated from nearby White Sands Missile Range! In 2006, it was announced that a new hangar would be built on former Weapons Storage Area 3 adjacent to IBC Park south east of town on FM 19606 just off Hwy 84 & FM 627. This $30 million project will include replacement of all existing infrastructure with more efficient building practices including underground parking for up to 100 aircraft plus associated support services such as training ranges and hangars for future expansion!
Hammond, Louisiana is a small town located in the United States of America. The population was reported at 3,645 as of the 2010 census. Hammond is included within the Jackson Parish, which is one of the twelve parishes in Orleans Parish. Hammond is also part of the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community was first settled by French settlers in 1785 and named after General John Hammond who fought against British forces during the American Revolution. The community became a post office in 1801 and had a population of 100 people by 1850. By 1870, Hammond had an estimated population of 1,000 people and it would grow to 2,255 by 1910. During World War II, Hammond participated in the Battle for Bastogne and then took part in V-E Day ceremonies as part of liberated France. In 1951, Hammond incorporated as a village and has since grown rapidly with its own police department, library, fire hall and high school which opened in 1961. Today, Hammond features a variety of businesses including restaurants, small retailers and convenience stores along with several churches including First Baptist Church which operate an elementary school system as well as larger churches such as Saint Dominic’s Catholic Church which have their own schools systems adjacent to their properties. The community also enjoys some excellent amenities such as its own golf course (the only municipally-owned golf course in Louisiana) its own water tower/ pumping station and its own airport serving both passenger flights into New Orleans International Airport and military airfields usedby both U S Army Air Forces units stationed throughout Central Louisiana while also providing links to other parts of Louisiana including Ruston(a city located just outside Baton Rouge)and Shreveport(the state capital).

Hammond became a parish in 1805. In 1827, the population of Hammond numbered 1,524 and it had a school for white children and a black school for colored children. In 1865, Hammond joined the Orleans Parish government. By 1900, its population had grown to 4,500 and it boasted an courthouse and several stores. However, by 1930, Hammond's population had decreased to 1,000 due to technological advances and World War II veterans being sent away from the area. In 1951, Hammond consolidated with neighboring communities of Napoleonville and West Monroe to form the new city of Napoleonville-Hammond-West Monroe.
