The bank donated another piece of land to the GCCA in 1966, which became Pineville Marine Park. Pineville, Louisiana is a small town located in the parish of Orleans, near Baton Rouge. The population was 1,711 at the 2000 census. It is part of the New Orleans-Metairie-Baton Rouge Combined Statistical Area. The town began as a post office on a grant from President James K. Polk in 1836. It was named for pine trees that grew abundantly thereabouts. The first store and school were located on what is now Main Street. A cotton gin and mill were built in 1848, followed by an opera house and other buildings in 1860. The town became an incorporated village in 1865, and then a city in 1912 when it annexed the neighboring municipality of Pineville proper. In 1937, it became one of the seventy-six parishes within New Orleans City Limits again becoming an independent municipality with its own government under mayor and council memberselected at large rather than through district or ward elections which had been common since Reconstruction days. In 1979, Pineville merged with neighbouring Metairie to form a new combined city/county government known as Monroe Parish Consolidated Government (MPCG). The merger created two new cities - Pineville proper and Metairie - while leaving all but three of the old villages within the municipal boundaries unchanged. As part of this consolidation process, many businesses closed their doors or merged into larger companies while others relocated to newer facilities or opened their own businesses inside or outside of Monroe Parish Consolidated Government boundaries entirely (except for Pineville itself). This unique aspect of life has made for some interesting dynamics over time as different groups have competed to become "the" largest municipally controlled business entity within our borders; usually this occurs when several smaller companies amalgamate together to create what is considered to be one giant company but this has not always been successful due largely to political interference from Mayor Mitch Landrieu who often sees himself as being better placed than any individual member of his cabinet relative to growth opportunities across all aspects of life including business development both inside and outside MPCG jurisdiction."

Pineville is a small town in Rapides Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 2,870 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Houma–Caddo School District. The current town site was laid out in 1820 by James Akeley and named for General Andrew Jackson's father-in-law, Sir John Piney. The first house in what is now Pineville was built by Capt. John Tryon near present day Sulphur Springs Road and Livingston Street. Tryon named his home "Bellefontaine," after Bellefonte County, Kentucky, where he had been born in 1787. In 1824, Colonel David Barton purchased the land from Tryon and laid out a new town on it called Pineville following the French plan of organization which placed towns within smaller circles around their parish churches. By 1830, all of Artesia Parish had been annexed to Rapides Parish and Pineville became an included municipality under that jurisdiction. In 1842 Pemberton Fenton bought much of the land surrounding today's village and built a plantation here known as Fenton Place which still stands to this day (although its boundaries have changed many times). He also donated some property to the government of Rapides Parish for use as a public square which remains today known as Fenton Square. From 1840 until 1870 there were only two stores in Pineville: one run by Capt John Tryon and another operated by Jno Gaultier & Co.. After statehood in 1865 there were three stores: Store No 1 on credit with Stephen Hogg; Store No 2 with Wm Bigham; Store No 3 with Geo Latta & Bros., who ran it until 1898 when it was destroyed by fire caused by lightning flash while stored inside a barn furnace! In 1880s there was also a post office in pineville which served both villages together until 1909 when it merged into that of Houma with no corresponding change to its name or address! The first school opened kindergarten through grade 8 in 1903 but closed due to lack of students so soon after opening! Eventually grades 9 through 12 were added along with special education classes starting from 1927 from Mrs Alice Dixon before continuing without interruption until 1978 when Head Start began providing instruction for pre-schoolers up through 4th grade! Today’s high school also opened enrollment for middle/junior high students via merger with nearby St Leo’s Academy back then known as New Orleans High School before becoming Pinevillian Junior High School v2l later renamed Cypress Hills Middle School! Finally since 2002 Classes are offered evening classes beginning Monday evenings thru Friday during summer months!

The first post office in Pineville was established in 1836. In 1865, Pineville become the capital of Lincoln Parish after it was moved from Natchitoches.
