The first coffee was roasted in the town of Easton, Maryland, on December 10, 1795. At that time, the town was part of Prince George's County and the roasting plant was located on Centre Street.
Easton, Maryland is a town in Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. The population was 15,451 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Montgomery County. The town was founded on May 5, 1793 by George Washington and James K. Polk as part of the new government of Westmoreland County. The name "Easton" came from a location called Easton Township which was located near where the river ford now stands. In 1801, John Washington sold land to Asa Gray and others for $25 per acre. This site became known as Easton Heights and served as the home of Gray's grocery store until 1892 when it moved to its present location on Bel Air Road east of downtown Easton. In 1892, local resident Eli Shaw donated land to build what would become Shepherd University in honor of his friend and mentor Drsuben Pugh Shepherd (1775-1847). At first named Eastern State Normal School after Pugh's birthplace in Delaware but renamed in his memory in 1896, Shepherd University became one of America's leading private universities with College Park becoming its main campus within a few years after its establishment. Today Eastern StateNormal School continues as an historically black university with undergraduate enrollment totaling over 9200 students across seven Schools including! Liberal Arts & Sciences; Health Professions; Business Administration; Veterinary Medicine/Veterinarian Science; Social Work/Human Services/ educational programs offered online through MyUSCARE or our sister program American Institutes for Research (AIR) During World War II, portions of the town were burned down by Japanese forces who had landed there on December 7th 1941 during Operation Ocean Wave following their successful attack on Pearl Harbor that day. The town slowly rebuilt and today has many businesses that have been established since then such as Army Ammunition Plant which still manufactures munitions today while also having housing developments like Oneonta Village which fronts onto I-95 just south of downtown Easton while also being home to numerous other businesses including Apple Incorporated (now Tim Cook), National Broadcasting Corporation – ABC Television Network Headquarters - before they current occupies their current building at 6201 North Broad Street just north side I-495 exit Thruway Exit 3A

Easton, Maryland is a town in Prince Georges County, Maryland, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 5,898. It is the easternmost incorporated community in Prince Georges County and was established in 1784. The name "Easton" comes from English settlers who came to this area in 1735 and named it after their leader Edward Easton. The first permanent settler in what is now Easton was John Pritchard who arrived in 1736. He built a house on the banks of the Susquehanna River which he called "Pritchard's Point." In 1737 another Englishman, George Washington, founded a small settlement here known as Mount Vernon on his estate at Georgetown Court House near present-day Thermopolis. Washington leased land from Colonel John Smith for three years before moving his family to Mount Vernon and establishing himself as the first President of the United States of America. In 1824 James Ketchum purchased 640 acres (240 hectares) of forested land east of Easton from Nicholas Wright for $1,000 cash and donated it to the town for development into agricultural acreage that would become an important part of local history. Ketchum also donated $5 per capita towards building a schoolhouse and other amenities within town limits until 1903 when alltowns Corporation raised money to build a new high school that still stands today. Today many aspects of daily life are based upon memories or experiences shared by residents during their early childhoods such as going ice skating on Ice Rink Drive or playing tag on Maple Avenue just outside town limits; these activities continue even into adulthood as opportunities abound to participate in alltowns programming like golf tournaments or summer events at various parks located throughout town including amphitheater field where concerts are staged each year during July4th weekend inviting outdoor enthusiasts from surrounding counties along with those living close by for baseball games etc... .
