Easton has been home to many notable people including Woodrow Wilson and Alice Paul. Wilson attended an elementary school here and later studied at Princeton University before becoming president of America; Alice Paul worked as a secretary for Senator James Fenton (D-MD) during World War I before starting her own political organization which became the National Association for Women's Rights. In 2007, Forbes magazine ranked Easton as one of "The Best Places To Work In America."

Easton is a town in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. The population was 5,828 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Washington–Baltimore–allentown, PA-MD Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in what is now Easton were farmers and their families who arrived in 1795 from Pennsylvania. In 1846, the town was incorporated as a village within Prince George's County. In 1886, it became an independent township. On July 1, 1907, it merged with neighboring Rockville to form the new city of Easton. On October 10 of that year residents voted to end Prohibition and become an open market for alcoholic beverages. It would be one of only two American cities to do so (the other being New York City). The repeal of Prohibition led to increased economic development in Easton and its annexed communities which helped support the growth of the nearby city during the early 21st century. In November 1967, Mayor James Korman announced plans for a new high school which would replace aging schools in nearby Bowie and Laurelhurst. Construction began on September 25th 1968 and finished on November 16th 1969; it was named Easton High School afterMayor Korman's father-in-law Harry Laughlin Sr.. Since then, Easton has seen continued growth with addition of several community colleges including Bowie Community College and Parkland Community College as well as numerous retail businesses including GNC and Kohl's supermarkets as well as professional sports teams such as the Orioles (who have played their home games at Camden Yards since 1998) and local eateries like Joe's Pizza & Italian Restaurant located across Route 66 from downtown Easton In 1935 Mayor John Fenton unveiled plans for what would become known as "The Star Market", designed to take advantage of its location just off Interstate 95 between Baltimore and Fredericktown - becoming one of America’s first big box stores! The store opened on October 15th 1936 with a floor area that eventually reached over . At its peak store occupancy around 8000 people worked there! Today "The Star Market" still occupies most if not all of its original buildingSpace inside today’s mall area offers about 30 feet² (~1 acre) on three levels plus additional spaces available underground! Easton is a small town in eastern Montgomery County, Maryland, United States. The population was 3,693 at the 2000 census. Easton is located on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and is bordered by two other towns- Bel Air to the south and Calvert City to the north. It has a rich history dating back to 1775 when General John Forbes founded what is now Easton as a military post on land that had been part of Quaker settlements in Cecil County. The first postmaster was William Busby, who served from 1775 until his death in 1801. In 1815, Easton became part of Prince George's County after it was split from Cecil County. As part of Prince George's County, Easton developed into an agricultural center with many large farms including those owned by Francis Scott Key and Samuel Morse. In 1847, the first school opened in Easton which taught grades one through twelve. In 1863, Edwin Augustus Webb built Webb House (now known as Webb Chapel) in honor of his father-in-law Dragan Vejnar who had died years earlier while serving in the Union army during the American Civil War. After World War II ended hostilities in Europe, many American soldiers returned home and set up homes in east Montgomery county including Webb House which housed some 120 residents during wartime times along with their families living elsewhere on Long Island Sound or near Baltimoretown Naval Station on Antietam Creek Valley Park property adjacent to Webb Chapel where troops could eat their lunch before returning home for dinner reception following maneuvers around Rock View Peninsula Naval Training Facility located just outside town limits across Middlebrook Roadbridge connecting town with Navy Yard annexe housing air defense command facilities then Fleet Air Arm Base Randolph AFB untilactivationactivation late 1980s). In 1951 Rabbi Isaac Babel moved his synagogue from nearby Bethesda to Webb Chapel and it stayed there until its move to new building next door (now All Souls Unitarian Church) within walking distance of Webb Chapel once again becoming rabbiless since 1965). According to unofficial local historical sources compiled by former mayor/mayor’s assistant Roy Jumper (1988), Revisions were made inside original building interior walls nearly three decades ago – most likely due to vandalism associated with later reopening of church following fire damage caused by faulty wiring - so extensive repairs never occurred; however congregation has taken steps over past few years against vandals
