The history of maga coffee in Rockville begins with the first documented purchase of a bag of this beans by Nicholas Ostrovsky in 1881. At that time, Rockville was known as the "Cup of David" because it was one of the most important coffeeesproducing regions in the country. The beans were harvested from the nearby Mount Carmel Coffee Farm and roasted at theRockville Coffee Company. In 1915, Mr. Harry Hays bought ownership of the company and began to roast maga coffee for his own personal use. In 1949, he passed away, and his son Isaac took over management of Rockville's maga coffee business. Under Isaac's guidance, we have continued to grow and develop our business into what it is today - one of Maryland's top roasters!

Rockville is a town in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. The population was 362 at the 2010 census. Rockville is located on the Potomac River about 14 miles (23 km) east of Washington D.C., and is part of the Washington metropolitan area. The first black residents of Rockville were slaves who worked in farms near the town during the early 1800s. In 1825, General John J. Pershing ordered his troops to march through Rockville to relieve General James K. Polk's army camped nearby on orders from President Andrew Jackson. As they marched through town, black soldiers and civilians gathered around Major General Winfield Scott's headquarters to watch as white menkrewors carried cannon into town for parade purposes only one day after slavery had been abolished in America! In 1836, Rockville became the capital of Prince George's County when it was created from portions of Frederick and Carroll counties. The growth of Rockville led to its incorporation as a city in 1854 by an act of Congress; it became a state capital in 1870 and re-incorporated as a city again in 1898. During World War II, much activity took place at Bethesda Naval Hospital which was then located adjacent to downtown Rockville near modern day Stadium Drive and I-270 Exit 17A (now US Route 1). During wartime, major military installations such as Fort Belvoir outside Arlington County were also located within walking distance of downtown Rockville including Bethesda Naval Hospital which was home to over 50% U S Navy personnel serving during World War II One tree that stands out among many others throughout this small community is "The Golden Globe" which once graced Main Street between Second Street and Third Street - now demolished due to traffic congestion caused by new development surrounding it! The tree stand dates back to 1861 when Captain Alexander Ballantine donated land north side Third Street between Second Street & Fourth Street for use as a public square known today as Ballantine Park - now home to Independence Hall Museum & Archives
The area now known as Rockville was first settled by the Potomac River Indians in the late 17th century. By 1800, it had become a small community of about 100 people. In 1814, General Robert E. Lee and his Confederate army invaded Maryland in an effort to capture Richmond, Virginia. The Battle of Antietam resulted in over 400 casualties on both sides and pushed the Union forces back towards Baltimore. On October 15, 1862, after three days of fighting, General Lee's army was victorious at Gettysburg and drove the Union forces out of Maryland.
