After purchasing ten pounds of entire bean espresso worth $225 in 1899 (!), Mr. Kapp donated these beans to the BGCSociety for distribution among its members! From then on, every member's business would be called 'The Bean Jar Company'. Throughout much of the 20th century, baristas found other ways to promote their trade besides giving away ground coffee for free - one example is charging customers per cup or serving amount for buying premium quality ground beans (although this practice has gradually decreased since 2000!). One famous Baileys brand commercial featured two friends sitting around discussing life without caffeine while sipping Baileys Irish Breakfast Coffee – soon everyone knew how easy it was to enjoy deliciousBaileyscoffee without ever having tasted anything like it before! Battle Creek is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan and the county seat of Battle Creek County. The population was 31,552 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Detroit metropolitan area. The name "battle creek" comes from Fort William Henry Harrison's 1812戦い at this location, which led to the naming of that site after General Anthony Wayne, who had also fought at that battle. The first permanent settler in what would become Battle Creek was John Cockerill in 1795. He built a log cabin on his farmstead near what is now Elmhurst Avenue and Lewis Road NW. There were several other early settlers before 1800 when two brothers - Adam and James Smith - erected a gristmill on Battle Creek River just upstream from where it empties into Lake Huron. By 1825, there were six stores, one tavern and three churches in town – all owned by men or their families: Samuel English (founder of English Village), Ebenezer Dunham (founder of Dunham’s Store), Nicholas Fenton (Fenton’s Store), John Callender (Callender’s store) and George Nance (Nance’s store). In 1827, American Fur Company trader David Thomson arrived in town with 400 head of beaver for Saginaw Bayou fur trade–the largest shipment ever landed on Lakes Huron and Michigan simultaneously. That same year, CPR established its line between Flint and Saginaw by crossing open country through what is now known as Thomson Road (). A post office called Battle Creek was established in 1830 (); it continued until 1924 when it was moved to Dearborn Heights (). In 1837–38, an act entitled “An Act for authorising the Construction of Canals over certain Parts of the Great Lakes district” authorized construction of a canal linking Saginaw Bayou with Lake Huron via Thomson Road (). The canal became operational in 1840; it provided transportation links between downtown Battle Creek and points northward including Cadillac (), Ann Arbor (), Traverse City () and Flint (). During World War II most manufacturing ceased due to wartime restrictions on materials but some businesses remained open such as Ford Motor Company's Rouge Casting Plant which produced aluminumisions for military vehicles during World War II; Allied Signal Corporation's Radio Station No 5 located east side along Main Street Bakewell operated during WWII supplying war-time radio equipment to many different sectors including communications intelligence; local breweries like Holland & Hart Brewery continued production; however many residents left for wartime jobs outside the city limits In 1951 Battle Creek became home to Eastern Michigan University (); then-President Truman announced plans for EMU to expand westward into Kalamazoo Township which eventually occurred when EMU opened its doors at Warren University in Warren Park across from Interstate 90 southboundin 1998 . In 2000 GMI sold Eastern Michigan University land adjacent to I-90 eastbound exit 3A for $145 million making this one large parcel encompassing almost 2 square miles (.8 km2) within present day East Lansing Township boundaries making EMU headquartered there again

Battle Creek is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan, with a population of over 130,000 as of 2010. It is the largest city in the Battle Creek–Harrison Township Micropolitan Statistical Area, which has a population of over 200,000. The name "Battle Creek" was given to the creek by General George Armstrong Custer during the Mexican-American War in 1867 when he found it difficult to find water for his army's horses and cannons due to Indian resistance. The first settlers arrived in what is now Battle Creek on May 10, 1814. They were three men, John Smeaton, James Kapp and George Armstrong Custer from Stonington (now part of Holland). Joseph Hennepin had also come from Buffalo (New York) and was looking for land to settle because he could not get an advance patent from the United States government for his claims in that area. He met these pioneers at their encampment on Mud Lake near present-day Michigan City. In 1827, Jotham Mott founded Mottville Farms east of Battle Creek where he raised corn and potatoes until 1830 when he sold out to Alexander Mitchell who moved his farm westward into what is now Clinton Township (Clinton County), Michigan. In 1830s there were two other early farmers named John Main and Isaac Morse who located just east of Battle Creek on White Oak Swamp before moving north about 1840 into what is now Grand Rapids Township (Laramie County). By 1850 there were only four families living here – those from Cleveland (now Detroit) who had bought land along the banks of the Chenango River opposite Lansing; Methodists from Pittsburg; Presbyterians from New Lebanon; and Baptists from Cincinnati/Cincinnati Landing on Great Lakes Bayou near today’s Gratz Village in Ottawa County.). On July 4th 1847 Anthony Wayne married Amelia Bloom at her home northeast of town on what is now Elmira Road ().
