The United States Air Force deployed a gift to East Grand Rapids in 1947. The gift is an F-4 Phantom II fighter aircraft. The aircraft was donated by the Algerian Air Force and flew into Grand Rapids for the first time on December 5, 1947. The F-4 Phantom II became operational in 1949 and served with distinction during the Korean War before being retired in 1969. It is now stored at Wright-Patterson Air National Guard Base in Dayton, Ohio undergoing restoration. In 1997, the USAF Museum acquired the F-4 Phantom II from Wright-Patterson AFB and it has been used as a museum exhibit since then. The aircraft is one of only four remaining original piston fighters from World War II and represents American aviation history at its finest.

East Grand Rapids, Michigan is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan and the county seat of Van Buren County. The population was 30,737 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Detroit–Windsor Metropolitan Area. The city was founded on November 12, 1824 by United States citizens John Lathrop and James Caldwell as East Grand Rapids Township, Michigania Territory. The first settler in what is now East Grand Rapids was John Denton, who arrived in 1825 from Ohio with his family. In 1830, east side of town became a separate village called Grosse Pointe Farms; this village ceased to exist when it merged into East Grand Rapids in 1835. On January 1, 1847, east side of town became part of aggregate township of Lansingburgh Township (now Muskegon Heights), which had been organized two years earlier by order of territorial governor Isaac Brockway following the US victory at Battle of Buena Vista during the Mexican-American War. On December 16th that year – while still an unorganized township – east side annexed part of west side's Dearborn Heights section as well as parts of Northville and Westland townships to form an even larger new township: East Lansingburgh Township (now Muskegon Heights). This merger created one municipality with a total population for all five districts north but one south (the eastern district) equal to that for its predecessor five townships: 21,858 residents in 1861; 24,994 residents in 1886; 28,689 residents in 1910; 31,737 residents at the 2010 census As part of newly formed Wayne County on February 14th 1860 from portions west and northof present day Muskegon Heights — including much annexed land from Lansingburgh Township plus most parts now within Eastern Lansingburgh Township — East Lansingburgh Township lost its municipal status and became just another rural area within Wayne County until it regained it on October 15th 1870 via act thereof entitled "An Act To Recovery Property From Any Person Who has Abandoned It" The City Council approved annexation by EastGrandRapids on July 10th 1948 through resolution #5291 which read "It is hereby ordered that sections 2 & 3 be annexed to this city." The original boundaries were set back then because only about halfway upriver from downtown there were no streets or other public infrastructure yet built so annexations went slowly until 1959 when construction started upstream on Odd Fellows Drive between River Road and Brush Road providing better access to jobs Downtown while also creating a southern boundary for future expansions onto Livingston Avenue further upstream making possible rapid growth over time without having to build anything extra near downtown . Today's eastsideview cemetery dates back to 1850 when families moved out after Indian War

This year's event will be held at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa FL on December 15th and 16th.

The city of East Grand Rapids was founded in 1835 by George Washington Carver. The city was named for the rapids on the Eel River which gave it its name. In 1840, the United States Post Office moved from Kalamazoo to East Grand Rapids and this office remained until it closed in 1865. In 1846, the town of Grand Rapids was organized and east of the river were set down square lots for settlers to build homes. The first post office in the town was atEast Lansing and it served as a stop on stagecoaches between Kalamazoo andGrand Rapids. When the railroad came through East Grand Rapids in 1868, mail deliveries became much more common and local businesses were able to take advantage of this new service. In 1870, an act was passed that allowed for a Presbyterian church to be built in East Grand Rapids. This church is now known as First Presbyterian Church. The population of East Grand Rapids increased rapidly during its early years and by 1881, there were over 300 residents in the city. During World War I, the city played a major role in providing food for soldiers stationed abroad and also produced munitions used by America's war effort. After World War I ended, jobs left East GrandRapid while newly constructed housing began popping up throughout the community
