By 1951, the company had grown to sixty-four stores across the United States. In 1957, Grosse Pointe Park Coffee Corporation merged with National Coffee Associates of Chicago (NBCA) to form NBCA/Grosse Pointe Park Coffee Corporation. They built a town on land that includes present day Grosse Pointe Park and used it for military purposes until 1813 when they abandoned it due to Native American attacks. In 1814, United States President James K. Polk sent General Anthony Wayne into Northwestern Michigan to quash an Indian uprising led by Chief Tecumseh which had threatened Ulysses S. Grant's army during his Campaign of 1812 against Napoleon Bonaparte's forces at Iuka River Bridge near Greenfield Township on July 8th (the Battle of Iuka). Aftermath of this battle resulted in many deaths among both sides including Wayne himself which led Congress to pass legislation called The Act for Peaceful Settlement of Differences between Great Britain and America on October 10th (1815). This act provided for half-way status between Great Britain and America where each country would have one or two districts with commissioners representing them; these districts would be known as Halfway Districts until 1830 when they became full-fledged counties because Jackson had been elected president twice consecutively without having won any district other than New Orleans while Adams was vice president.. Coffee beans were brought overland from Java and Ceylon and then shipped down the Rhine, through Germany, Austria, Hungary, Bohemia and finally England. The quality of these beans varied greatly, with some coffees being much better-tasting than others. In 1795, a group of Swiss businessmen founded what would become Switzerland's first coffee house - La Colombe - which served both espresso and whole milk coffee. This early incarnation of cafés became popular due to their convenient location within walking distance of many homes. The first Starbucks was opened in Seattle in 1976. Coffee began to spread around the world faster than ever before during World War II. With support from British troops stationed overseas, cafes all over Europe started serving delicious cups of joe while they were on duty. This socializing aspect of coffee culture quickly became popular among soldiers and their families back home – something that continues to this day!

The city was incorporated on April 14, 1896. The first settlers in what is now Grosse Pointe Park were French Canadian immigrants who came toMichigan from Quebec in 1812. They named their new settlement after a point near Montreal called Grande-Pointe. By 1830, most of these pioneers had left for other parts of Michigan because there were no good land opportunities here. However, some families stayed and started farming around what are now Maplewood Avenue and Diversey Road. In 1836, General James Ketchum founded Fort Gratiot on Grand River just east of present day Grosse Pointe Park. This fort served as a military post until it was abandoned in 1863 due to lack of funding and equipment. In 1847, John McLaren built a log cabin known as North Star on property that would later be part of Grosse Pointe Park – this cabin still stands today! North Star became home to many early residents including J.D. McCloskey (a pioneer physician), Samuel Morse (the inventor of the telegraph), and Augustus Kelley (the first American printer). In 1875, local businessmen organized the first baseball game in what is now Grosse Pointe Park when they played against each other at Belle Isle Stadium – this game also led to the name “Grosse Pointe” being given to what is now downtown Detroit! Over time, more sports teams have been formed here such as hockey (Detroit Red Wings), football (Michigan Wolverines), softball (.410 winning percentage record between 1908-2011), tennis (Grand Rapids Griffins) and volleyball (.500 winning percentage record between 1984-1991). Today’s community features an active music scene with several bands playing weekly at venues throughout town; plenty of shopping options available within walking distance; excellent public transportation options with stops right outside your door – all while maintaining its unique historical flavor!
